Divination is a roleplaying game that uses tarot cards in place of dice—though it's perhaps more accurate to say that Divination is tarot. The game doesn't merely use cards as story prompts or picturesque d20s. Instead, tarot's essence permeates every aspect of play:

• Your character is tarot, embodying the agendas and drives seen in various major arcana cards.
• The characters you meet are tarot, inspired by and built upon archetypes shown throughout the court cards.
• Narrative is shaped by tarot, as drawn cards offer not just numeric resolution but also inspiration for how and why a moment plays out the way it does.
• The magic you’ll encounter is tarot, flowing along seven Roads from seven Sources which manifest reality-bending powers drawn from the major arcana cards that define them.
• All of reality is tarot, a reality where the cards aren't just symbols but actually make up the fundamental architecture of existence.

Due to the central role tarot plays in Divination, we simply couldn't create this game without developing a bespoke deck to accompany it. The greatest of fortune united us with Brazilian artist Joana Fraga, whose vivid surrealist imagery brings Divination’s magical universe to life while offering a visionary reimagining of the original Rider-Waite-Smith tarot symbology.

This is a little bit of a unique shopping experience, because we're using a platform (BackerKit) that is typically used for crowdfunding, but for a special ready-to-ship event together with many other creators.

Because of that, we ask that you PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING SECTION CAREFULLY to understand exactly how things will work, what to expect, and the steps you'll need to complete.

STEP ONE: CHOOSE A PLEDGE TIER

Select one of the four available pledge tiers, which will take you to the add-on step.

STEP TWO: ADD YOUR ADD-ONS AND COMPLETE YOUR PLEDGE

If you'd like to add anything in addition to your base tier, you can do that now. You will also have the opportunity to add more items in the pledge manager. Whether you add any add-ons or not, you'll finalize your pledge and enter payment information. But you will NOT be charged yet!

STEP THREE: CAMPAIGN CLOSES AND CARDS ARE CHARGED

On December 1 at 4pm Central time (see that in your time zone here), all BackerKit Holiday Market projects will close, and the process of charging cards will begin. If there is an issue with your card for any reason, you'll get an email asking you to resolve it so your payment will be processed.

STEP FOUR: SURVEYS WILL GO OUT

This will happen as quickly after December 1 as BackerKit allows me to do it. Everyone whose cards have successfully processed will receive a survey to complete. This will collect your shipping address—and if you're shipping to the state of Illinois, we'll charge you sales tax at this time or else the Illinois Tax Goblins will hunt me down. In this step, you'll also have the ability to upgrade your pledge (not downgrade, sorry) and/or add add-ons.

STEP FIVE: YOUR ORDER WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO OUR ONLINE STOR FOR FULFILLMENT

As folks complete their surveys, I'll transfer the details to our online store through which we handle all our fulfillment. You'll receive an email when everything is ready to finalize, at which point you'll complete your order on our store and pay for shipping. If you're a US-based customer and are hoping to receive your items in time for Christmas, you MUST complete Step Four and Step Five prior to December 10! There is a little wiggle room for certain items as detailed in the Shipping section below, but we all know things can go wrong during the craziness of the holiday season, so please don't put these steps off.

We'll email you at every step of the way and provide all the guidance you need!

FOR THIS CAMPAIGN, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO SHIP TO THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA.

I know this is disappointing for our international fans, but between tariffs and new EU safety laws and other complex issues, it's just not practical for us to ship outside those two countries at this time.

TRANSIT TIMES and DELIVERY FOR CHRISTMAS

CANADIAN CUSTOMERS: Please know that due to the timing of the BackerKit Holiday Market, we cannot commit to getting your items to you prior to Christmas. We will ship as expeditiously as possible once you've completed all the steps in the section above, but shipping times to Canada are longer and there is always the chance of delay in the customs clearance process.

US CUSTOMERS: Some of our items are shipped by us personally, and some by our production partner. Shipping deadlines for holiday delivery vary based on where the items are coming from as follows:

• T-shirts and Mugs are shipped by our partner and must be finalized by December 11 in order to arrive by Christmas, which is why we're setting our overall deadline at December 10 for holiday arrival.

• Everything else (decks, playmats, tokens, stickers) comes from our warehouse in Chicago and is shipped out personally by yours truly. We use UPS Ground, and since we're centrally located in the country, we can get to most of the country within 3 days or less. UPS doesn't guarantee their Ground delivery times anymore, but they're quite reliable. If your order contains ONLY items that we're shipping from our warehouse, you've got some wiggle room—as long as you complete all the fulfillment steps by December 17, we should still be able to get everything to you in time.

SHIPPING COSTS

Shipping will be charged through our online store when you complete your fulfillment and will be based on precise weights and details of your final order, but the charts below give you a good estimate of what to expect.

FREE LOCAL PICKUP IN CHICAGO (GAME COMPONENTS ONLY)

If you’re located in or traveling to Chicago, you will have the option to select local pickup when you fulfill your order. Pickup is available by appointment only at our fulfillment center in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood. PLEASE NOTE THAT LOCAL PICKUP IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR MUGS AND T-SHIRTS.

Pickup times are subject to availability and must be scheduled in advance. If you have a narrow travel window or need to arrange a very specific pickup time, please contact us via our contact form before placing your order to guarantee that we can accommodate your request.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

While the Holiday Market is active, you are free to change or cancel your order as you like. Once the Market closes on December 1 at 4pm Central time (see that in your time zone here), your order is considered final and may no longer be canceled.

In the pledge manager you will have the opportunity to add add-ons and even upgrade your pledge level if you like, but you will not be able to downgrade your pledge or remove add-ons added during the campaign. No refunds will be issued after the campaign closes.

We do not accept returns for change-of-mind or sizing issues. However, if your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, we’ll make it right.
