Project Update: Campaign Complete; Next Steps

Thank you! πŸ’œ

Once again, I'm blow away by your guys support for this project. I'm excited to get everything ready and sent off to you guys.

I'd like to give an extra special thanks to the extremely generous 80 backers that donated community copies, these will be made available to the public to claim once the itch.io page goes live.

Status Report πŸ“‹

The module itself is completely written, and ready to print; same with the stickers. Proof copies are currently getting printed off, so I can triple check there aren’t any weird issues and the colours all look correct.

The soundtrack is also completely finished; notsure did an awesome job with it, cant wait for you to hear it.

A little sneak peek of the sticker designs, if you didn't catch me squeezing them onto the campaign page.

Next Steps πŸ–¨οΈ

The proof print copies will be back to me by the start of next week. Once I'm happy with those, I'll be ordering the full print run.

BackerKit should be charging cards at some point over the next two weeks. I'll be sending out the surveys as soon as I can (which I believe is also in two weeks time) β€” be sure to fill these out as quickly as possible as I'll be shipping very soon after (like one-ish week later). Digital content will be sent out around this time too (via itch).

That's everything from me.  I'll be back in touch with more updates as things progress; until then, keep your eyes peeled for emails and thank you for supporting me.

Norg.

TLDR: Thank you, everything's in motion, thank you.

Project Update: Project Spotlight (Providers) & Sticker Upgrade (Free)

Hi Team,

A couple of updates from me. A wee promo, and a free upgrade to all the (physical) backers.

Project Spotlight β€” Providers 🀝

Providers (by Joshua Kramer) is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter. Here's some bits and bobs about what I find interesting from this project.

  • Coarse illustrations. I've got a real soft spot for anything with an approach to artwork that isn't generic one-size-fits-all realistic. In an age of thoughtless and 'polished' AI-generated imagery, it's really refreshing to see projects that instead lean heavy into raw and emotive handmade art, warts and all. I was a huge fan of Joshua's previous piece of work, A Mansion Most Vile, specifically the illustration of Mr Lewis (the character is scratched in with such seething rage that you'd be convinced the killer android himself illustrated it). With Providers' 36 pages (compared to AMMV's two), I'm excited to get the zine into my hands and look through all the illustrations.
  • Mundane dangers. There's already got a lot of 'supernatural' threats in the Mothership line-up, so it's exciting to see a module that leans more into plain old human-engineered cruelty. A libertarian’s 'paradise' is a great idea for setting that can be both a great stop-off for some well-earned shore leave, or a man-made hell to slowly (or quickly) get milled against the stone.
  • Catching heat. In base Mothership, there's no baked-in encounter mechanic or time tracking, which lets each module decide how exactly they want to ratchet up the tension and the stakes. Providers has an interesting 'heat' mechanic, which gradually attracts the ire and retaliation of the local law enforcement the more you bend or break the rules. Among other things, if you skirt the rules too far you'll be hurled into a hellish iso-chamber to serve out accelerated time. Extremely ghoulish (awesome).

All-together, I'm keen to see how Providers comes together. Joshua has had a strong start with his previous pamphlet modules, and I'm excited to see if he sticks the landing with this book-sized piece of work.

Free Sticker Upgrade πŸ–ΌοΈ

After receiving some concept sticker sketches from Fellow Mammal, they were TOO GOOD. I couldn't decide between my two favourite designs, so now she's completing both of them! Now everyone gets three stickers (instead of two), two by Fellow Mammal, and one by me.

I'll keep the actual designs a surprise for now, but two of the stickers will feature the module's antagonist, and the other one will be a company logo/emblem (in lieu of a patch).

β€”

That's everything from me for now. Be sure to share the project with anyone you think might be interested (and let them know they can pick up a print copy of Dead Weight too, while they're here)!

Cheers,
Norg.

Project Update: Funded!

We did it! πŸ’œπŸŽŠπŸŽŠπŸŽŠπŸŽ†πŸŽ†πŸŽ†πŸ˜³

Thank you so much! Fully funded in just over two hours, and already past 200% too! I'm blown away by the support.

You won't hear too much from me till the campaign ends (as there's no stretch goals), but once the campaign closes things will start moving quite quickly:
  • Files will be sent away for printing almost straight away.
  • Shipping will be charged as soon as possible too (remember, it's a flat 7 NZD rate worldwide).
  • Digital files will be sent out around the time the physical zines get packed and sent.

Cant wait to get this thing into your hands.

Thanks again,
Norgad.
