What's a bananahead shark you might ask? A species of shark that's part banana, part hammerhead shark of course!

Benny started out as one of ten food x animal sketches back in 2024. He and his buddies were then made into shrink plastic pins and two sticker sheets. The pins quickly became best sellers and I knew eventually I wanted to create more merchandise featuring them.

In December 2025 I began working with a plushie manufacturer bringing Benny to life. The plush was built on the original design, which did not include the banana peel collar pieces:

As you can see in the first prototype he looked cute, but he didn't look banana-enough. A few revisions later and Benny looked like the perfect blend of banana and shark!

The plush measures about 6 inches tall and 8.5 inches long. His face details and banana spots near his tail are embroidered. His body fades from yellow to a light green near his tail, with his tail fin being brown to mimic a banana stem.

We wouldn't want Benny to get lonely, so the campaign will also fund matching enamel pins of his and friends!

These soft dyed enamel pins will be 1.5 inches.

Don't let "soft" in the name confuse you, it refers to the style of enamel pin. Each pin will have a screen printed design, giving them a crisp and cute look like the mock-ups above.

To keep the initial goal low and easily attainable, I've decided to make Benny's friends as stretch goals. Next to each character is a threshold that must be met before the design is "unlocked" and available as pledge and/or add-on.

The first 48 hours are crucial to the success of a crowdfunding project. As a special thank you, backers who pledge early will be rewarded with a free BackerKit-exclusive Summer Time Fun sticker sheet featuring Benny. Extras can be purchased as an add-on.

At this time stickers, sticker sheets, and keychains are available. If any stretch goals are met, more add-ons will be available for purchase.

Below is an estimated timeline for the Bananahead Shark Plush Project. Some padding has been added to factor in any holidays and unforeseen circumstances.

Launch: The project runs from September 10th until September 28th. Once the campaign ends, surveys will be sent out via email. During this time BackerKit will release the funds and manufacturing will be begin on the enamel pin(s), plush, and keychains.

Surveys: Surveys will be sent after the funding period has ended. Shipping charges will also be applied at this time based on your location and whether your pledge included non-plushie rewards, a plushie, or both.

Production & shipping to me: Plush and enamel pin production will approximately take 45 to 60 days. The keychains will take less than a month. After the manufacturing period, shipping the plushies to me will take approximately a month.

Quality control: All pledge rewards will be inspected for major flaws before being packed and shipped out to you.

Fulfillment: If your pledge did not include a plush, you will most likely receive your pledge and add-on rewards sooner. A date has not been chosen yet, but will most likely be in January 2027.

If your pledge included a plush, fulfillment will take place between February and April 2027.

These dates are tentative and subject to change. Any changes made will be announced to backers during project updates.

Shipping charges ARE NOT included with your pledge. Once surveys have been sent out and pledges (and add-ons) have been finalized, I will calculate shipping charges based on the package weight and your location.

Shipping rates are subject to change based on postal service rates. I will do my best to keep everyone informed if rates increase between now and the tentative fulfillment date.

All packages (including stickers and sticker sheets) will be shipped with tracking included.

Hello! I'm Angie (you might also know me as Annie), a Florida-based artist who loves to draw cute and silly things, especially animals. I started OsoCuteClub in 2022 to combine two things I love in life - animals and art! What started out as a therapeutic hobby (making stickers and handmade earrings) has now branched out into a growing business with original characters. Everything is drawn by me, and up until this year, most products sold in my shop were handmade.
