I LOVE Christmas and when I designed these 12 magic items there was one item in particular that just HAD to be created.
The Cracker of Tricks.

It has since been brought to my attention that Christmas Crackers are not widely known or enjoyed over in the USA.
Why? How? This CAN'T beee!

Is this true or are the other members of the team just making fun of me?!
Either way I hope you enjoy this magic item, it sure was fun to create :)
Though we fulfilled the core offering on this campaign a long time ago, a few outstanding items remain.
Sorry about the lack of updates and the long wait, but after an unexpected (and prolonged) pause we have news on Whispers Upon the Waves, The Frostville Snowman Massacre, and A Wraithmas Carol.
If you happen to follow other campaigns featuring these outstanding adventures, you might have already received some of this information. But this update also contains details specific to this campaign.
Let's look at the outstanding items seperately.
Whispers Upon the Waves
As mentioned in a previous update, Whispers Upon the Waves suffered from significant scope creep, which as you probably know is something of a theme for Penny Dragon Games (we continue to work on it). Obviously, the downside of this is that it added time which caused the project to be further held up when we had to hit the brakes on everything.
Thankfully, the brakes off now.
Having pushed go on all projects again, we’re currently taking stock and getting the last bits of “Whispers” (as we have come to call it) together. The upside of scope creep is that what was supposed to be a short adventure ended up being something of a tome in its own right. The adventure includes maps and encounters above and below the haunted town of Vandermire.
The best part? Whispers will finally be fulfilled in July. Keep an eye on your emails for a notification re how to download it via Backerkit Pledge Manager. Of course, we’ll also post an update once surveys are sent.
The Christmas Adventures
Firstly, A Wraithmas Carol had to be rewritten. It has also been renamed. Despite these changes, it remains a Christmas Carroll inspired adventure with a twist. This one needs the most polishing, but it isn’t as long as the other 2 and so is also slated to fulfill in July.
Secondly, The Frostville Snowman Massacre shaped up to be more robust than originally planned (are you seeing a theme here?). It includes everything that was promised with the addition of an optional expansion at the end, tying the adventure into the lower planes. In other words, you can run it as its own standalone winter horror adventure or use it as a fun seasonal entry into Avernus or the Abyss.
We know it’s been a long time coming (to put it politely) and look forward to finally sending these 3 PDFs out over the coming weeks.

I know I'm so overdue an update on the mini adventures for this campaign. Things have been a little on the tough side around here in recent months and this has somewhat slowed things down. At no point has these adventures been forgotten, though.
Thank you for giving us some grace on these festive adventures, I can't begin to tell you how much we appreciate it.
The Frostville Snowman Massacre
This adventure is in the final stages of writing although it will be a couple more weeks before it is ready for full layout. The great part is that the art is ready for the project, so once we have the writing things move pretty quickly as the files are already set up.
A Wraithmas Carol
As I've mentioned before, this adventure will follow after the fulfilment of the The Frostville Snowman Massacre it is still with the lead writer on the project. I will have a better update and timeline for this one toward the end of May. The art is ready for this adventure, too.
Both of these will be with you during the summer months and well ahead of the festive season for 2024.

Thank you for your patience and feedback on the possibility of waiting that little bit longer for The Frostville Snowman Massacre and A Wraithmas Carol mini adventures.
We've had our heads down in Penny Dragon land, working through a number of adventures including these two.
The Frostville Snowman Massacre will be the first of the two festive adventures to be completed. The writing is set to go to layout during the last week of March with fulfilment for the first week of April. I'll let you know as soon as the writing is in layout.
A Wraithmas Carol will be second in line for completion. This one is set to go to layout in May. I'll have an updated timeline for completed fulfilment a little closer to the time.
It certainly feels like it with A Wraitmas Carol and The Frostville Snowman Massacre still underway.
Apologies for the slow update on these two, we had a somewhat rocky end to 2023 and that filtered into a rocky start to 2024.
We are back at it in full swing now and eager to see both of these Mini Adventures (not so mini if you know us haha) over the line.
