Project Update: ZOETROPE's Final 6 Hours
Hello Avernus Denizens!
I made a post back in October for What We Possess, the ghostly story telling game, but today I wanted to invite you to the final 6 hours of ZOETROPE: Death Didn't Take.
ZOETROPE and What We Possess have shared space in their projects, being available in each, but ZOETROPE's project is uniquely featuring a large $20 expansion box for the core game that features, now that we've unlocked the final stretch goal to increase its size, over 250+ new cards. It's a wild box bringing magic, super future, and now super ancient, technologies into the game, and increasing the card count of the main game by a huge amount, nearly doubling the main game!
I can only do these projects because of your support. It really does make all this possible, so if you are interested, please come take a look before the project ends.
There are also great enamel pin sets for people who might be more interested in auxiliary things than a new game. Something for everyone! : )
(If you already pledged on the WHAT WE POSSESS project, go ahead and pledge just for the ZOETROPE expansion, I'm combining orders between those two projects.)
If we make it to the final goal of $25,000, we'll unlock an additional set of cards designed exclusively by our project's artist, Rickie Lee Benedetto. Rickie Lee breathed life into this game, and I believe that this would be a fantastic ending for the project. So please help us reach that final goal!
See you at the Agency, Time Agent!

PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: What We Possess
New from the Publishing Goblin, What We Possess is the latest Kickstarter campaign from the mind behind the Alleyman's Tarot, the Publishing Goblin's Oracle Dice, and New Avernus:
What We Possess
In this spooky ghost-story telling game, 2-7 players gather in the dark to tell a story together of the Living and the Dead. Play as a ghost haunting the space, gathering clues about a core mystery as you push the living to action, or possess them to take control entirely.
The game is run on cards and game pieces, and players have complete control to suggest and run scenes in the space. Perfect for nights when your normal long running campaign games are short a player, or for a party space with friends who are ready to tell strange tales. The rules are simple, more story-telling and improv than game mechanics, making it perfect for people of any age, and people who don't normally play games.
Help pledge in the first 24 hours to give the campaign the greatest chance of success, and we can work towards the stretch goals that unlock additional small story packs of cards, including a Five Nights at Freddy's themed expansion, spooky stories in space themed expansion, and a summer camp slaughterhouse themed expansion.
And in doing so, help secure the future of Publishing Goblin Games, allowing me to make divination projects and game projects each year, and fulfill my creation dreams.
Additionally, the 2nd edition of ZOETROPE, the card-run TTRPG about playing the rent-a-cops of time travel, is available on the project! So if ghosts are sounding a bit too spooky for you this Halloween season, lock and load to patrol time instead. Or grab both for just $40!
You can find What We Possess, live now, over on Kickstarter!

PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: The Final Cutoff | New Games from Publishing Goblin
Hello my dears,
It's been some time. We shipped everything a while back now this year, and I have the remaining 70 copies of the game in my storage unit here in Denver. If you reach out this week to my email ([email protected]), I'm happy to help you with anything that went missing or didn't arrive. Please don't just reply here on the update, I don't receive notifications of the comments, so they aren't the best place to say hi or connect. Definitely email me.
I would love to see people share their gameplay experiences with the game so far! How have your cities been? What factions do you love to play? Any structures that are your go-to for points? Resource gathering?
Or the oracle-- How has the oracle served you for single player mode? Or for reading as an oracle itself? Curious how many people added the oracle cards to their Alleyman's decks.
Monday next week is the final cutoff. If I don't hear from people by then about a missing item or the like, I'll assume we're all good.
In the meantime, I launched Take Me to the Dark on the 3rd over on Kickstarter. It's a 3-game project. New Avernus was my return to game design and publishing, and it was seriously great to see you all come here to support this project for $27,000! So Take Me to the Dark is my followup, sticking to doing 1 game and 1 divination project a year.
All three games on this project are card-based roleplaying games. ZOETROPE and WHAT WE POSSESS use their own special cards, while SECRET HALLS makes use of a playing card deck for its gameplay. While it comes with a special made playing card deck, any standard deck of cards work for the gameplay.
As card-based games, the three games require little book keeping. There is no need for character sheets or pencils. That makes these games ideal for little to no preparation before sitting down to play, and best suited for one-shot games-- that being games that are run for one game session and completed in that time.

Take Me to the Dark: 3 Games of the Strange by Publishing Goblin — Kickstarter
Each game is just $25, will come in a small game box, and can be grabbed in a bundle for $60. If you have time, and the funds, please give it a look. I know that growing a games audience from my divination audience is a bit hardwon, but I'm looking to really support both equally. Also the artists on these games have worked so hard on their pieces, I can't wait to share how beautiful all the components truly are!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to take a look. If you find they aren't your kind of thing, but you want to support your local Publishing Goblin, please pledge at the $5 tier. It means the world to me to have any and all support I can find.
Thank you, thank you, thank you,

Project Update: The Oracle is in the Room With Us! | Deadline reminders
Hello denizens of New Avernus,
Quick reminders that we're past the deadline to claim your pledge at this point for anyone who didn't do their survey or pay for shipping, and that the deadline to let us know if your package has gone missing or arrived damaged/incorrect is currently July 7th. I'm keeping an eye on the late orders going out to people, and will make sure to extend the deadline if needed to let people have a week with their items first if needed.

Missing your Oracle Deck?
I've received a few emails now of people letting me know their Oracle deck is missing from their order-- I assure you, it's just in the game box! : )
If you are missing an item though, or if it arrives damaged (unfortunately 2 have so far) you can still reach out to me at [email protected].
I do want to be clear, the best way to reach us (and get a reply) is by email. Commenting on backerkit doesn't alert me in any way so I generally just don't end up seeing comments here. (On Kickstarter I get an email for every single message/comment, which is why Im so much more responsive there!) So please email!
Playing the Game? Show Me!
I have been OVERJOYED to hear from people who are out there playing the game, and especially so to get pictures of people's play sessions and smiling faces. You can tag me @DaneAsmund or @PublishGoblin on twitter, @PublishingGoblin on Facebook or Instagram, or @PublishingGoblin on Tumblr! Nothing is as fun as seeing your game live in the world, being touched, played, wrecked. Thanks for playing!
The Alleyway Oracles
And yes, the Alleyway Oracles is in the final 2 weeks over on Kickstarter, and just broke $500,000! If you have a moment and haven't already pledged, please give it a look! It's full of lots of very neat things! : )
Alright, I'll see you all on the 7th when the last deadline hits.

PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: Final Orders Sent | New Deadline for Reporting Damaged or Missing Items | Events?
Hello denizens of New Avernus,
A week ago today, we hit the deadline for people to get their final information in, fix payment, etc for their orders.
As of today, 4 people never did their surveys, and 22 people never paid for their shipping.
I'm currently sending the 40(!) orders over to SendFromChina for final fulfillment. Once that's done, I'll be having the remaining New Avernus sets be shipped by freight over to me in the US, where I will store the extra items and... try to sell them, I guess!
Overall, 513 backers got Oracles of Glass and Stone or copies of New Avernus on this project, and that's pretty great! Definitely a more humble beginning than my divination projects, but as my first step back into tabletop games, I think it was pretty amazing. So thanks for your support!
I do want to note that you can still reach out to me at [email protected] if your order arrives and is damaged or missing items. The new deadline here is 45 days from today to let us know if your package went missing or if items are missing/damaged from your order. I'll do my best to make sure you are all taken care of!

Packages Still Traveling
I've heard from people who have their copies of the game and love it, their oracles and are using them! I've also heard from people who were looking for their tracking info, and when I followed up it looked like it was still enroute. But as of a couple days ago, even people whose orders just got on ships on the 10th had their items arriving to their country. I think in the next week, everyone should have their items in hand from those orders.
The 40 orders I'm sending out now will likely arrive in mid to late June around the world, but I will be flexible with the July 7th due date to let me know about missing or strange packages for these final 40 especially. Just be sure to let me know by email if anything is off! : )
When I get the remaining stock in June, I'll be putting some copies up on my square store: Home | Caretaker + 7 (square.site)
But mostly I'll shop them to local game stores and see if anyone wants to carry it! They're big boxes and awkward/costly to ship, as well as store.

Hello!
This year, I'm trying more than ever to be present at all the things I can be present at. Last year, I was invited to be a headlining guest at the Phoenix Autumn Meet pagan festival in Florida, and I'll be returning this year as a non-headlining guest. Then closer to Samhain, I will be at the Florida Pagan Gathering as a headlining guest!
In August I'll be at GenCon, running games of ZOETROPE, my timetraveling card-based RPG, as well as my Five Nights at Freddy's unofficial TTRPG system, then I'll be at Pax Unplugged to do much the same and Big Bad Con also! If I can fit the big honking box of New Avernus in my bags, I'll run some pickup games of that as well at all three!
If you're working at a pagan or tabletop event and can invite guests, I'm happy to go most anywhere and would love the chance to meet many of you! So where are you all going, and do you think you might see me at one of your events? Let me know! : )
Thanks for your support,
7
