How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.
Project FAQ
How do I qualify for the free MythCraft items?
Pin: Any individual that has backed one of our previous QuasiReal campaigns will get a free MythCraft Enhanced Enamel pin with their pledge. Copper Colored Coin: Any individual who backs within the first 48 hours of the campaign will get a free MythCraft Metal Copper Coin with their pledge. *Note these are not real copper, just copper colored* Gold Colored Coin: Any individual who has reached level 22 in the discord will get a free MythCraft Metal Gold Coin with their pledge. *Note these are not real gold, just gold colored* MythCraft Enhanced Physical + Digital Dice: Any individual who followed the pre-launch page will get a free set of MythCraft Enhanced Physical and Digital dice with their pledge. Sticker Pack: Any individual who has reached level 22 in the discord will get a free sticker pack with their pledge. Tomb of the Tyrant PDF: Any individual who followed the pre-launch page will get a free Tomb of the Tyrant PDF. If you missed any of these offers, all items are also available as add-ons.
I don't see my free items, do I need to add on the free items I qualify for?
No! If you add-on any of these items, you would be ordering a second item. The Pin and Coin will show up in your pledge automatically. The rest will be added post campaign. If you are unsure what you qualify for, please see the FAQ question regarding this.
Is the cost of shipping included in my pledge?
No, shipping will be charged later through Backerkit. Also note that you may also need to pay sales tax or VAT in the pledge manager as well, depending on where you live. We will collect your information and charge shipment closer to when we’re ready to send out the books and merchandise.
Are taxes and VAT included?
Taxes and VAT are not included and will be charged along with shipping after the campaign ends.
How will I choose which VTT I want my compendium/module for?
When you pledge, or add a VTT add-on, you will simply see that you added that compendium and/or module. You will not choose at that point. Don't worry! Once the campaign concludes, you will indicate if you would like your VTT materials for Roll20 or Foundry on your Backerkit Survey.
How will I choose my T-Shirt size?
When you pledge, or add on a T-Shirt, you will simply see that you have that T-shirt in your pledge. You will not choose a size at that point. Don't worry! Once the campaign concludes, you will indicate what T-shirt size you would like on your Backerkit survey.
How do I add on an item?
When you first select your pledge, you will be given a list of all add-ons. Any you wish to add you can click "Add to Pledge" and it will add automatically. If you are looking to add something on after having already pledged, you can go to the "Add-ons" tab and click "Edit your Pledge." This will bring you the previous screen where you can click "Add to Pledge" for any item you wish to add and then confirm your order.

Can I order multiple copies so I can have the compendium for both VTT systems?
Yes! You may order as many copies as you would like of any of our items.

Will there be a pledge manager?
Yes, we will be using Backerkit as our Pledge Manager as well.
How do I use the pledge manager?
BackerKit is very intuitive and easy to use. A few weeks after the Kickstarter closes, you will receive an email from BackerKit. Just click the link and follow the instructions from there.
