We’ve got great news: after successfully reviewing and adjusting all the shipping rates, we officially submitted the surveys for approval… and they’ve already been approved! 🎉
This means we’re moving on to the next step: the Smoke Test!
We’re now sending the surveys to a small group of backers first, just to make sure everything is running smoothly and there are no sneaky bugs or issues. 🕵️♀️✨
Normally, during weekends, the BackerKit team recommends waiting until Monday to send surveys, since BackerKit is only available for support Monday-Friday, and requests won’t be answered until next week!
But honestly? We’ve already been waiting so long, and now that everything’s finally ready, we just didn’t want to delay things further. So we’ve decided to kick things off with only the Smoke Test now, and if everything looks good, we’ll send surveys to everyone else starting Monday!
🛠️ A quick heads-up:
So, if you reach out to BackerKit support over the weekend, you’ll likely get a reply starting Monday. If you’re part of the Smoke Test group and notice anything odd in the survey, feel free to let us know directly at [email protected] — our replies may be slower, but we’ll be checking! You can also drop a comment here if that’s easier — we really appreciate your help spotting any issues!

Since some shipping costs have slightly changed recently, we need to take a bit of time to go through each Country/State and weight tier to make sure everything is accurate and up to date. It’s a bit of extra work, but we want to get it right for you!
🚀 Once that’s done, we’ll submit the surveys for review. If all goes smoothly, they should be approved within 3 business days. 🤞

New Pins & New Plushies | Post-campaign stretch goals
🧸 What about the bears that didn’t unlock during the campaign?
Some designs (for both plushies and pins) that many of you loved didn’t make it during the main campaign — but we didn’t want to give up on them! So we thought we’d give them another chance to shine by adding them as post-campaign stretch goals. This way, they still have an opportunity to get unlocked, even though the campaign is over! ✨
That said, we can’t put all them at once (at least not at the start of the surveys), as they wouldn’t have enough visibility here to be funded all together.
So for now, we’re starting with the top three most-voted bears during the campaign: Clown Bear, 90’s Bear, and Many Thoughts Bear – available both as pins and plushies, and set as unlockable stretch goals during the survey period.
👉 If you add any of these to your cart in the add-ons section, you will only be charged if they actually get unlocked 💳🔓 ̖́-
If they don’t reach their goal, they’ll be automatically removed from your cart before checkout, and you’ll only be charged for shipping and/or any other available add-ons you selected.
There’s a live goal counter next to each product that shows whether it’s been unlocked yet or not.
✨ And if we manage to unlock all three, we may add more over time! Of course, these unlockables will only be available until the surveys close, which will happen shortly before we begin production. If there are any updates or any specific changes to the timeline, we’ll let you know in another post.

We were hoping to have all the missing plush samples (Constellation Bear, Clown Bear, and 90's Bear) ready in time to show you photos before you had to choose your designs. Our manufacturer had promised them ages ago —but unfortunately, they've kept pushing the timeline back, 15 days at a time… and we're still empty-handed.
That said, we can't wait forever. We'll be wrapping up the final bits on our end and sending out the surveys soon, even if the missing photos don't arrive in time. It’s not ideal, but we’ll make it work!
On top of that, it’s been a wild time behind the scenes —we’ve been juggling multiple projects at once, and while we really thought we could manage it all, we clearly overestimated our bandwidth. We joined Pintopia way back in July last year and were so excited to be part of it, but we couldn't know all the unexpected roadblocks life had in store.
This kind of overstimated miscalculation is something we’re working on (yes, in therapy!) and trying to improve going forward.
As many of you already know, it’s just the two of us managing everything —no extra staff, no outside help even from friends and family —so when real life throws curveballs (even the worst ones), things tend to get delayed more than we’d like.
One of the most time-consuming parts of survey prep is actually making everything as clear and easy as possible for you backers: uploading every product SKUs one by one, and creating custom graphics to visually match each item with its name. Not everyone does that, but we feel it's important so you know exactly what you're picking.
That said, we’re aiming to get the surveys out within a week from now! That’s our personal goal —fingers crossed we can make it happen 🤞
