Project Update: May Update | Just checking in – No big news yet, but we’re moving forward
We just wanted to pop in with a quick update, especially since it’s been a month since our last one and we didn’t want to go quiet — even if we don’t have major news just yet.
As you may remember, in April we decided to change manufacturers (again!) after receiving a second round of low-quality samples. That decision has come with extra steps and some frustrating delays, but it’s something we knew was necessary to get these pins to the level of quality you all deserve.
Right now, we’re still finalizing some details with the new manufacturer — this means confirming specs, materials, and getting test runs organized. It’s a slow process, especially since we're making sure every single issue from the past two factories is addressed before moving forward.
We know waiting is tough, and we totally understand if it’s starting to feel long. But please know that we’ve been pushing every day behind the scenes, trying to avoid rushing again and ending up with pins we’re not proud of.
Thanks again for sticking with us through all this. We’ll be back with a more concrete update as soon as we have the next round of samples in hand — hopefully very soon!

Project Update: 🐉 The road so far

Here are the essentials: this is our third attempt at producing the Delidragons pins. They didn’t come out well, so we’re now switching manufacturers again — which means more delays and more costs on our end. This also affects all our other 'pending' projects, since we’re essentially back to having no reliable pin manufacturer.
We paid for that second run out of our own pocket, just to make things right. At first, things were going great. The rep we were assigned was responsive, competent, and for the first time in a long while, we felt like we could finally breathe again.
Communication became slow and painful. We’d wait ages between replies, even when we followed up multiple times. The artwork proofs were full of errors, again and again, and when we sent our corrections, we were often misunderstood — or worse, completely ignored. Nothing was clicking.
Now, we’re doing something we really hoped we wouldn’t have to do: we’re starting over again.
We’re back to square one, looking for a manufacturer who can actually do justice to the designs we’ve worked so hard on and someone who can actually do the job right.
It’s a historically tough time for this kind of business — with all the ongoing changes, rising shipping costs, the new tariffs, tighter customs regulations, and huge penalties popping up for even the smallest mistakes.
It’s putting a lot of pressure on small businesses everywhere — and on manufacturers too, from their side.
So we know this won’t be easy.
When it rains, it pours — just one more setback on top of everything else we’ve already been through.
We could really use all help we can get at this point 😔 We know it’s not something anyone should really be asking, but truthfully — we’re feeling pretty desperate at this point, and time is definitely not on our side.

🤍 Why did we stay silent through all of it?
And truthfully? It’s taken a toll on everything: how we work, how we stay organized, and how we function day to day.
We really hope you can understand — it’s not easy to keep writing updates when all we have to report are more struggles or delays. We’re always hoping for that turning point, that the next news will finally be something good to share.
💝 Trying to heal
But we’ve reached out for help. We’ve started a healing journey, gotten into treatment, and we’re learning how to cope — how to get better at managing our work again, too.
🌿 Living with ADHD & Autism
Sometimes we genuinely think we already did — and then suddenly, weeks or months have passed.
⏳ Time slips away from us without us even noticing.
Getting a diagnosis helped. It gave us a framework — a way to finally understand why things have always felt off or harder for us. It’s validating, even comforting in some ways. But it’s not a magic fix. Knowing why we struggle doesn’t make the struggles disappear. It just means we can name them now. And sometimes, that makes the frustration even sharper.

📋 Where things stand now
- ❌ First batch — made by our original manufacturer: went bad due to drop in communication, after months of pushing through the same.
- ❌ Second batch — made by a new supplier (paid by us): rejected due to extremely poor quality and communication.
- 🔄 Third attempt — now in the works with a new manufacturer. Fingers crossed! 🥺
- ⏳ Delays — unfortunately, these setbacks have pushed things back much longer than we ever imagined, even when revisiting things after the first delays.
- 🔗 Other projects — on hold until this new attempt shows promise. Where we can, we won’t take any pending charge from anyone for other projects (like Delicats). While we could really use the 'extra' funds more than ever right now — we don’t feel right charging you just yet, especially if there’s still a long wait ahead.
🌱 Being careful it’s necessary
But we’re also learning to let go of perfection a little wherever is possible, and accept that “done” is better than “flawless but never finished.”
We’re even working on this in therapy — our therapist helped us put together a visual plan to make things more manageable. 🙏

We’re committing to posting at least a small update every 4 weeks, even if it’s just a quick check-in on how things are going. Hopefully we'll manage to do it!

You might see very similar updates (or part of them) across our other projects — because while the specific details may vary, the core challenges we’ve been facing, and the way we’re trying to work through them, are the same and deeply connected.
It didn’t feel right to reword the same truth over and over just for the sake of variation.
We want to be transparent across the board, and this message felt important enough to be shared in full — to make sure everyone gets the same level of insight and care.

Project Update: Still on Track
We wanted to check in with a quick update. While things are still taking longer than we had hoped, we’re fully committed to seeing this project through. Delays aren’t fun, and we’re incredibly grateful for your patience. We know many of you are wondering about a timeline, and while we wish we had a clearer estimate to share, things are still uncertain. As soon as we have a concrete timeframe, you’ll be the first to know!
This is part of a larger wave of delays affecting all our projects from last year, and while we’ve been working through the challenges, some issues are still lingering... That said, we’re keeping things moving behind the scenes, and as soon as we have real progress to share, we’ll let you know right away. So its been about 2 months since the last update and almost a year from the end of the campaign. Any new updates on how production is coming along? Any projected target for when Items will be shipped out? I'll be moving in a few months and I'd like to know if I'll need to update to a new address or not.
Project Update: Catching up with the progress
Happy New Year! We hope you’re all starting 2025 with joy and excitement. We're here for a quick update on the progress and share some thoughts.
>As we approach the Chinese New Year at the end of the month, we expect things to slow down even more, as all our manufacturers will be on holiday. We noticed, this time of year always tends to make them busier and less responsive starting from early January already, so we appreciate your patience as we go through these added waits.
On a brighter note, sticker production is also progressing, even if it’s at a slower pace. We can’t wait to share more juicy updates with you soon!
Of course, we owe you an apology for not updating in the past two months. We know we’ve been slow to communicate everywhere, and we truly appreciate your patience. As we've mentioned elsewhere, we're not the best at keeping everyone in the loop, especially when there aren’t significant developments to share.
You might recall the personal and health challenges we faced throughout 2024, which unfortunately left us unable to work for quite a while. This caused significant setbacks across the board. Additionally, our previous pins manufacturer, who we had relied on for years, was unable to assist us for months as well -despite having already in hand the production of lots of our collections and projects, forcing us to find a new trusted manufacturer. A process which isn't quick or easy at all, and it’s been a bit of a struggle to restart production out of our own pocket.
We realize not everyone can follow all the updates across our various campaigns and social channels, and we noticed that many miss updates even within the same campaign, so we just wanted to share again these challenges.
That said, we’re committed to catching up with everything and also improving our communication this year! Being both AuDHD with no help doesn't make it easy, so please be extra patient with us 🥺🙏
On a bittersweet note, with almost all our pets gone, we find ourselves with fewer tasks to juggle. While it’s certainly a tough emotional transition that we still have to overcome, it's surely a relief our workload. We miss them dearly, but we’re hopeful that this change will allow us to focus more on our work and bring you the Delidragons (and other) goodies you loved very soon~
