10 years (and a pronoun change) after his failed confession to Izzy, Nate is hired to take the life of the woman who broke his heart. Will he carry out the hit, or will he take a shot at love one more time?
Nate spent the last 10 years trying to move on from his childhood crush, Marissa “Izzy” Crawford. To get by and pay the bills, he did what anyone else would and got a job… as a contract killer.
Little did he know that his side gig would dredge up old wounds when he coincidentally gets assigned Izzy as his next target.
Will Nate follow through with his contractual obligations, or will he follow his heart and attempt to rekindle an old flame?
My Assassination Target is My Childhood Crush? is a 30+ page romantic comedy where unrequited love threatens to resolve itself in the most inconvenient way. This will be our second crowdfunded comic book — our first one, Forever Home, was successfully funded over at Kickstarter in late 2024!
By supporting this campaign, you’ll help fund our first print run of this story and some limited-edition variant covers.
Eventually we hope to release this comic as free-to-read on our website, however that will take a long while and the images will be lower resolution than a physical or digital copy. Plus, getting a copy through this campaign guarantees you a physical edition before it’s on sale anywhere else!
Meet the Characters
Meet Nate (he/him) In the decade since getting his heart broken, Nate kept his mind off of things by getting a job (contract killing), redo-ing his whole wardrobe (transitioning), and picking up new hobbies (smoking). While he didn't intend for life to end up this way, at least it's a stable paycheck and in no way reminds him of his failed romantic exploits (until now).
Meet Izzy (she/her) Izzy has spent the last ten years adjusting to becoming an international conglomerate princess overnight due to her father's business dealings. Now back in the States, she plans to carve out her own piece of the empire, get her life back, and possibly revisit old relationships she was forced to abandon.
All shipping and VAT/tax fees will be charged separately, AFTER the campaign, during pledge management. The prices below are estimates. Actual shipping prices will be determined after production is finished and we're gearing up to send out the books. Also, if you select additional physical rewards to your order, your shipping cost may increase.
Estimated shipping costs, subject to weight.

Lee Evans is the shared creative persona behind Rainy Day Atelier. We’re passionate about crafting diverse stories that interest us, which often explores how character relationships fare in supernaturally-influenced (or just plain unfortunate) situations.
This is our second go-around, so we know a thing or two about how to run a successful comic book campaign. However, there are always chances of human or technological errors occurring that may delay printing or shipping of books. We’re fully dedicated to getting these rewards out as soon as we can!
