And it's a game where nobody loses...unless you just don't play.
There will be a series of questions and as long as you participate in 80% of the questions, you'll get a prize, a little symbol of Ivy's heritage, to be mailed out with your rewards when it's time.
The questions will be posted in the polls...but be warned. As the poll progressed, people might figure out Ivy's secret.
If you don't want to have the secret spoiled...well, I guess you shouldn't play. However, there are layers to her secrets. Like ogres and onions. Cakes and parfaits. Yes, that's a Shrek reference. And some of that secret, you will never guess without reading the story.
Now...pick your team!
FYI, team names don't indicate *anything* at this point other than that's just the name you like, although, you will see this list again.
The book is off to my beta readers. I sent it with exactly one hour and ten minutes left in July, too!
Yay, me.
My editor is going to have in their hot little hands while my beta readers are having a go at the book. I'm planning to tackle it all once since I'm already running behind.
Once I get it back and address any changes that need to be made, there will be one final editorial pass, then I go through again after that, then I start formatting.
Formatting won't take long and then I'll get the ebook out and start working on getting a proof of the print book put together.
But seriously, no. Nothing for me is ever simple or easy. I'm down to the last chapter on my final read-through on I Choose the Bear and then I send it off to my readers.
I'd planned on getting it done before we had to travel to Florida to kidnap a teenager. Well. We didn't exactly kidnap them. They're a friend of Hooligan's (my youngest) and they've been planning on moving up here for a while. They came from a bad home situation and once they were 18, Hooligan asked if they could move in with us. I said yes.
That was almost two weeks ago. I'd planned on working on the trip because I always do.
But the wreck happened. Everybody is okay, but good grief, my arms hurt. We weren't at fault. I should blame Atlanta. Atlanta traffic is evil. I wanted to stay in Chattanooga. This is what happens when people don't listen to me.
Alas, the wreck and sorting through that, dealing with a very unhelpful rental car company and recovering fried my brain and then there's the new kid settling in.
I still plan on finishing the book by the 31st, but that's where we stand now.
Finalizing addresses, etc
I anticipate getting the first proof ordered hopefully by early September. Once I'm happy with how the proof looks, I'll lock addresses, so make sure yours is up to date by then.
The server was there, refilling it—another cup of ice, the full cup of tea and more honey. I watched as he added spoonful after spoonful just as he had earlier while the server cleared away his empty plate and his discarded glasses. They chatted like they were old friends and once they were gone, I arched a brow. “You sound like you know each other.” He shrugged. “I’ve lived in the area all my life. I know a lot of people.” “Dentists?” I side-eyed the half-empty honey jar. Immediately, blood rushed to my cheeks. “I…wow. I’m so sorry.”
A cute snippet from one of the chapters I'm editing. It made me chuckle.
The edit process is going a little slow, but I hope to be done with the first round in the next couple of weeks. Beta readers are lined up and once they're done, if everything reads well, we'll get the second round done and then it's formatting time.
I appreciate everybody's patience.
Just an FYI

Yes, yes, we're all here for the bear, but...what about sexy shapeshifters and bad-ass women who can swing a sword?I certainly do. My other self, J.C. Daniels, has a new project up and running.
Would you like to join us?
Well, I hadn't planned on going live tonight, but while I was trying to figure something out with secret tiers, I realized I wasn't going to be figure it out unless I went ahead and launched.
So...surprise.
My next Kickstarter is live. This is the second in a series, but the first book is available, too, for those who are new to the series.
There are secret tiers. Shhhh...I'm sharing these with backers of a couple of projects, my newsletter and my patreon and some will be limited...and...uh, I think I forgot to set the limits... damn it. Gotta do that. Gulp.
Anyway! Manic grin.
Here are the links to the secret tiers! The prices are a little cheaper and who doesn't like that?
