Lilancholy is a novel from the award-winning game designer, Snow. Originally published in 2022, it follows a woman struggling with the memory of her strange, nameless friend and their shared childhood with fairies. It serves as a novel, exploring nostalgic poison and queer trauma, a poetry collection, showing you how to cast fairy magics, and a guidebook, teaching you the rules to all the games the fairies like to play for our souls.

Lilancholy doesn't exist anymore in its old form. This new edition of the book comes as a paperback novel with new writing. It'll fit in with all the other paperbacks on your shelf: 4.25” x 6.87”, soft cover, 160 pages, with new layout. The goal is to return to Lilancholy and wrap it up, emotionally and physically.

A personal anecdote: since writing Lilancholy, I have transitioned. I've been on HRT for two years now and that would not have been possible if not for Lilancholy. The book is deeply rooted in my trans experience as a child, unpacking that, and the messy nature of trying to resolve that which can't be resolved.
I like to keep campaigns simple and even more so for Lilancholy. What's important here is the book, the writing, the experience of reading.

I've dreamed of returning to Lilancholy. Writing more stories. Delving deeper into the book and getting lost again. If I hit $5,000, I'll be able to set aside the time and write an additional piece of short fiction for the project. Beyond that, there are no stretch goals for Lilancholy.
I collect all shipping through my own personal store front and that will continue with this project. Shipping prices have been out of this world, but domestic shipping within the United States will be around $5, and shipping to other countries will be what they are. Right now they are around $15-25 dollars, but this book is a smaller form factor which should make things more manageable.
When the project wraps it takes around 2 weeks for the money to reach my account so I can order the print run. It takes about 2-3 more weeks for those books to reach my doorstep, and 2-3 more weeks for me to package and ship all of them out. In total it should be about 2 months of work after the project wraps to get everyone their books.
Hi, I'm Snow. I'm a trans writer living in Chicago with my two partners and our cats. I am a full time writer and game designer. I made the award-winning .dungeon and My Body is a Cage. I write non-fiction for youtube and my blog. I love how, when it snows, the world becomes as it was when I was a child, as if that time exists forever-and-always in the sky, waiting to fall slow to the earth. I am safe. I am in love. And Everything is perfect.
Projects like this are how I keep the lights on and myself fed. I'm asking for $2,000 which cover the cost of the book and my meager living expenses during its fulfillment. Any money I make over the goal will go to further living expenses and the creation of more art. It's a self-perpetuating machine that goes and goes. I am currently working on a Mecha game which will come out next year.
