Joined by an unlikely band of companions—including a sentient construct, known as an odari, named Grone, who becomes his closest ally—Valdeer ventures into the drowned streets of Forastad. But the ruins hold more than treasure, and as rival forces close in, survival may demand more than courage.

Welcome to our first ever Backerkit campaign and our first ever novel (the first of many to come!). Lost & Found is a high-paced action adventure story. Lost & Found is the first in a series of several books by author Rob Knipe and the first in a collection of novels by Rob and other authors based on the lore and world of Sordane.

Tales of Sordane is our connected world of novels and stories in the world of Sordane! We have been building this massive and magical world for over half a decade now with 100s of miniatures, games, rpg adventures, and more. The next thing up was novels! And now, the wait is over!
Many of you may know us from one of our other projects such as Aldarra- a massive strategy board game set in the world of Sordane, RPG supplements and books like with Airship Campaigns and Moonsoon, or maybe even the 100s upon 100s of STL miniatureswe have sculpted and released over there years. Now, with the launch of Lost & Found, our brand new venture into the world of literary storytelling has finally been launched as we add to our foundation of projects that we are deeply passionate about!
Writing and releasing novels such as Lost & Found has been a creative goal for us as a company for quite a few years now. It's been wonderful to meet and collaborate with authors such as Rob Knipe to help us flesh out and expand the world of Sordane in such a fun and adventurous way as we have with Lost & Found. Expect to see many more stories coming from not only Rob, but other amazingly talented writers such as Ann H Fox who has written our second upcoming novel - Spelldriver! Spelldriver is also slated to release later this year.
This may be our first novel, but we are no strangers to hard work and delivering quality products. We not only want to ensure that the novels you're reading are fun, engaging, and leaving you wanting more, but that they are delivered and produced with a high standard in both material and written quality! Our promise to you as a reader is that we will strive to make this series of novels and stories a fantastical ride that you won't want to get off and you'll always want to read more!
First up is our long awaited novel - Lost & Found. Written by Rob Knipe, it's a high energy adventure follow Valdeer and co through the lost city of Forastad. Then later this year, the next novel, Spelldriver, releases! Our second novel written by the talented Ann H Fox! Spelldriver is a different story and characters, but still packed full of adventure!
There are many characters in Lost & Found but we want to introduce you to 5 of the main ones! They are Valdeer, Duro, Grone Farikk, and Yargur!
Valdeer was born and raised in Lozandar and has spent the past few years busking to try and make ends meet. Generally jolly and cheerful, he loves to joke, and sing songs with a hint of innuendo, poking fun at those he considers friends, or the patrons of the taverns he performs in. Ever hopeful that one day he’ll overcome the obstacles in his way and become a success, he always puts a brave face on to meet the world head on with a smile, and a witty retort. With nothing to his name but a colorful bard’s outfit and an old lute, he has everything to gain, and only his life to lose.
Duro is an avensari, a spectacular variety of bird-like humanoids, and more specifically, an eagalan. A priestess from the Temple of the Flowing Waters, she is a force of calm in a world of chaos. Able to heal, calm and relax people, Duro has spent years exploring the world, helping those in need, making a beeline to places where there is likely to be a huge amount of suffering. Not one to back away from a fight, she will bolster her allies with defensive magic, while smiting her foes with holy light.
Grone is a relatively young odari, a race of sentient constructs found throughout Sordane. A skilled fighter with strength and mettle to match, he defends his friends and allies without hesitation and would gladly put his life on the line in order to save theirs. The only challenge he struggles with is social interaction. His awkward mannerisms often leave people feeling uncomfortable or confused, and leave him feeling isolated.
Farikk, one of the feline humanoids known as kizaru, is a mage who ceased his training, and turned his attention to gaining knowledge and learning as much about the ancient world as he can. A keen reader, he would rather have a crumbling ancient tome than a sack full of gold, and travels from place to place trying to learn as much as he can. With his staff and scorched sleeves, he looks every bit the mage, and won’t hesitate to scorch his enemies from existence with jets of roaring fire.
As a titaran, Yargur has a naturally short temper, which lands her in as much trouble as it gets her out of. Quick to anger, she often blows her top over what she considers an act of stupidity or incompetence, and has no problem telling people exactly what she thinks of them, backed up by her huge, muscular frame. Steadfast and redoubtable, she will never back down from a fight, and would rather die a glorious death in battle than eek out an existence.
Rob Knipe is a writer and hobbyist from Liverpool, England, who primarily writes fantasy and science fiction satire. He has previously had short stories published in Mantic Games’ Drainpipes for Strikeposts and Deadzone Dossiers anthologies. A big fan of miniatures, he bought his first three pack of lead elves in 1984 and never looked back. Having fallen in love with WFRGP while in school, he now plays a large number of RPGs and tabletop games. He ran the Youtube channel Brush and Boltgun for many years, making video painting tutorials until life became too busy. He can usually be found behind his desk working, writing, painting, or being killed on Battlefield.
Backing at the Storyteller pledge tier will give you the privelage of naming one of the secondary characters for the sequel novel to Lost & Found (yet to be titled!). You will work with the author Rob Knipe to name some of our fun side characters including a couple of Death Divers - a group of mercenaries that jump off of airships toward the ground on their way to covert mission targets!

VAT and Other Taxes
Any applicable sales taxes will be charged in the pledge manager. EU backers will be subject to VATs ranging up to 27% depending on location. If we have a low number of backers in the EU, we will be using and applying the VAT of our distributor (which is in the Netherlands) of 21% to all EU backers. Other countries and locations are subject to potential sales taxes if applicable. All applicable sales taxes and VAT will be charged in the pledge manager after the Kickstarter ends.
