BackerKit FAQ
How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.
Project FAQ
Who is Tabletop Mirror intended for?
The platform is primarily intended for system designers, homebrew GMs, and worldbuilders who need a way to manage their original content, make it available to players, and want more tools at their disposal for managing their campaigns or running them digitally.
What do more casual gamers get out of Tabletop Mirror?
TTM has a lot of benefits for players and non-homebrewing GMs as well! Core system and rules support for cross-referencing and research, easy-to-search rule sets, campaign management, notetaking, VTT support, and play-by-chat support are all integrated into a single platform.
Is Tabletop Mirror still in Beta?
Technically, yes, although all features in place are fully functioning. We consider it to be in beta because we're not creating features and support.
What are the Membership Tiers Mentioned in the Pledge Options?
We have a full guide here for anyone looking for answers: https://tabletopmirror.com/pages/6670ad020dfc477270174f31 In short, it's all about storage! All features are for everyone forever!
Do I need to know how to code to use Tabletop Mirror?
Absolutely not! No features of TTM require programming knowledge!
Does TTM integrate with VTTs like Roll20?
We're currently developing new and improved VTT functionality as a part of TTM, making it a one-stop shop for players so you don't need to use TTM and another platform. However, it is very easy to use the features of TTM alongside another VTT if you already have your campaign running there.
Isn't TTM free? Why are you implemented paid memberships?
TTM is currently free, and we will *always* offer a free membership tier. However, building entire game systems or complex homebrew libraries requires a decent amount of storage space for our servers, so our paid membership tiers will unlock additional storage space for our power users and help offset operational costs for the platform as we continue to improve it.
Will the stretch goals be included in the free tier of Tabletop Mirror?
Yes! We will never paywall any core features of TTM, only storage space.
Does this project use AI?
No generative AI is used in any facet of Tabletop Mirror and never will be.
What platform are you using for pledge management?
We’ll be using BackerKit for pledge management post-campaign.
What countries can/can't you ship to?
Unfortunately, we cannot ship to some regions due to factors outside of our control. These regions include Afghanistan, Niue, Belarus, Sudan, Laos, Syria, Myanmar, Yemen, Iran, North Korea, Brunei, Ukraine, and Russia.
Who are you using for fulfilment?
We'll fulfill any shipping requirements (t-shirts, dice, etc.) ourselves, with private logistics support.
How do I add add-ons to my pledge?
We have all add-ons available as part of the campaign, and you will have the opportunity to increase your pledge and purchase additional items in the pledge manager.
I have another question.
