an Item and 'Recipe' Guide for Crafting in Mausritter
Here is some work in progress art for some of the items. I am drawing each item token with blue pencil and Copic marker, then scanning them in to fit the official Mausritter item sheet template. This gives me a hand crafted look that fits well with the world of Mausritter, but also lets be get a rich variety of texture and contrast in the artwork.
This "Tinker's Trove Edition" of Tails and Trinkets comes with everything in the "Crafter's Toolbox", plus two exciting extras EXCLUSIVE to the "Tinker's Trove Edition".
1 Extra PDF Only Item Sheet of Oversized Items.
A 4-Page Mini Comic PDF story, "The Tinker's Tale"
Don't miss this chance to add these unique treasures to your next Mausritter Adventure.
A BIG thanks to JP Coovert for the kind words in his recent video:
The ‘Tales and Trinkets’ campaign looks great. You know, I love the Mausritter inventory system. All the little tokens that help you keep track of your inventory. A big reason of why I recommend Mausritter as a great starting game. And ‘Tales and Trinkets’ is just going to expand that inventory in a really awesome way so that's an instant back as well. - JP Coovert
Part of the unique fun of Mausritter is the physical token-based inventory system, and holding in your hands the items your adventure brings you. Items you searched for and fought for.
Collecting physical items can be useful on their own, but Tails and Trinkets provides you with a simple rules-lite system for allowing players, and GMs to Craft new and interesting weapons, armor, potions, tools, and even magic items.
Searching for items becomes part of the fun as your players search for the last piece of their recipe to craft a Crossbow with Snake Scale Piercing Arrows, a powerful Sweetgun Mace, or maybe collect the right ingredients for a powerful Mithridite Antidote Potion to save your companion from certain death.
Crafting in Mausritter is meant to be a fun experience without a lot of rules and procedures to get in the way.
Crafting Disciplines include:
Alchemy - for potions, powder, salves, and power-ups
Enchanting - Magic can be dangerous, but can make average items into powerful tools
Forging - Forging new weapons and armor
Tailoring - for creating light armor, cloaks, tarps, and tents
Tinkering - for crafting mechanical and electrical devices
These disciplines can be combined to add magical enchantment to most items.
Follow the guides given or just use them as inspiration to launch the imagination.
If crafting is not your thing, then enjoy the over 100 unique items cards in Tails & Trinkets !
Mausritter Month is a month-long celebration of the award-winning tabletop RPG Mausritter, running from November 4 – December 4, 2025. It unites dozens of talented creators releasing new adventures, settings, and zines — all set in the whimsical and sword-wielding small world of mice. Fans can explore new adventures, new settings, genre-bending campaigns, creative supplements, and support a thriving indie community. Back seven or more participating projects to earn a free pack of wooden mouse meeples — one for each featured creator — and join in a cozy, creative event where tiny heroes take on epic quests together.
THIS PROJECT IS PART OF THE DISCOUNTED GROUP SHIPPING. 13 out of the 16 projects in the Mausritter Month event are part of the group shipping, which means all rewards from these projects will be grouped and shipped together so that you potentially save upwards of $125 on shipping. For instance, if you're in the US and back Junk City + 10 other projects, you are paying only $46 and not $142. Find out more here.
Mausritter is an ENNIE Gold Winner (Best Family Game 2021), rules-light tabletop RPG where you take on the role of brave little mice surviving and adventuring in a big, dangerous world. Simple mechanics make it easy to learn and quick to play, while the setting offers a mix of whimsy and peril — think tiny swords, lost magic, and wild creatures.
Developed by Losing Games in collaboration with Games Omnivorous, and published by Exalted Funeral, Mausritter features a unique inventory system that uses physical item cards, making gear management tactile and intuitive. It's perfect for kids, newcomers, and seasoned players alike. You can read more about the game at mausritter.com.
You'll be able to pick up a copy of both the Mausritter: Box Set and The Estate Adventure Collection Box Set in the Mausritter Month anchor project JUNK CITY.
Whether you are totally new to table-top role playing games, have only played D&D, or are deep into the indie and OSR TTRPG scene, Mausritter is perfect for you and your friends to jump into.
The base game comes with a handful of items, weapons, armor, and magic for your adventure, but my goal with Tails and Trinkets is to expand the possibilities of physical item tokens you can bring to your game, so please pick up a copy of Tails and Trinkets and check out all the other creators and projects this MausritterMonth!
My name is Ed. I am a visual effects artist and cartoonist. It has been exciting to discover Mausritter this past year, and I have enjoyed adventuring in the world, especially with my kids.
As an artist, one of the things that drew me to the game was the "arts & crafts" style inventory system. Between me and my kids, we have some fun item ideas to share. I will also be drawing my own versions of some of the background items and treasures found in the Mausritter manual.
Help us bring this tiny world of big ideas to life!
