Project Update: 🎉 Funded! First stretch goal unlocked! And a sneak peek!

Hello future campers! 🏕️✨

Thank you all so much for pledging and sharing! Frances & Ġorġ: Camp Make-Believe was fully funded on its very first day, and we’ve already unlocked our first stretch goal! We'll be donating copies to local libraries in Malta!

In this update, and the ones to come, we’ll be sharing artwork from each of the 8 quests in Camp Make-Believe, along with a little description of each. All art is by Moira Scicluna Zahra from Studio Meltdown. Stay tuned for more in upcoming updates!

First up, we're highlighting Quest 4: Defend the Kingdom!
Learning Outcome: Be Brave

In this quest, campers journey to the Kingdom of Bumbleburg, a magical land overrun by mischievous goblins! The kingdom needs the kids’ help to design clever defences and protect its people.
This activity encourages bravery, creative thinking, and problem-solving as kids imagine bold ways to face challenges and stand up for others—just like true heroes!

Here’s the “Be Brave” sticker badge rewarded in this quest!

Speaking of the Kingdom of Bumbleburg, We need your help!
Bumbleburg is just a temporary name for the kingdom in Quest 4. We’d love your suggestions for a better name, comment them down below! Once we have your ideas, we’ll include them in a poll for everyone to vote on. Your suggestion could end up in the final book!

Lastly, don’t forget—you can download a free quest here to try out Camp Make-Believe today. If you’ve already played, we’d love to hear what your little ones thought and see what they drew. 💗 Below is a drawing from one of our backers’ kids. We love seeing these, so please do share yours too!

Till next time!

Project Update: ✨ Behind the Scenes at Camp Make-Believe: How It All Came Together

Hello future campers! 🏕️✨

Curious about how Frances & Ġorġ: Camp Make-Believe came to life? We've published a 3-part blog series all about the making of the game—from the original idea to research to our playtesting process and, finally, a helpful guide on how to play!

📝 Read the full series here:
  1. How to Design a TTRPG for Kids – How it all began, and how we created a kid-friendly prototype rooted in storytelling, learning, and play.
  2. Playtesting with Kids – What we learned from running the game with little adventurers (and the surprising moments that shaped the final version).
  3. How to Play Camp Make-Believe – A clear, gentle intro for grown-ups who might be new to tabletop roleplaying games, with tips on making the experience magical for kids.

A look at our character sheets and sticker badges!

We hope it gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the heart behind Camp Make-Believe—and helps you feel confident and excited to play it when it arrives! 💫

P.S. Don’t forget you can download a free quest here to try it out today. If you’ve played it already, we’d love to hear what your little ones thought!

Till next time!
