We have officially cleared US customs! The shipment is expected to reach Orlando today and should arrive at the Quartermaster Logistics distribution hub next week. I am currently awaiting final confirmation from our freight forwarder to lock in the timeline.
Good News on Tariffs
We have excellent news regarding customs fees. To our pleasant surprise, several items received tariff exemptions that we didn’t anticipate. While there was still a small fee, the total was significantly lower than expected, so we have decided to absorb the cost entirely.
This means there will be no further charges for you.
I have removed all additional pending charges from your BackerKit surveys. As a result, some of you may see a slight "credit" on your profile; this is simply a byproduct of the batch update process to ensure no one was overcharged. You won’t pay a cent more—we’ll call it even. You can use that credit against any digital file available on the Pledge Manager, but bear in mind that you will probably need to pay something on top, and since the survey is locked, you will have to email me at [email protected] to make changes.
New Short Story Available!
By now, you should have received a download link via Backerkit for a new short story set in the world of Valraven. Written by Sean Newton, The Vestiges of Pain is a 35-page dive into our setting, available in both PDF and ePub formats.
This story serves as a potential first chapter for a longer arc. We would love to know if you're interested in a full novel or a collection of stories, so please share your thoughts in the survey and comments below. (Writing a quality novel is a massive undertaking, so please keep in mind that a full-length book would be a separate, paid release.)
We hope you enjoy The Vestiges of Pain and that it inspires your own sessions of Valraven: The Chronicles of Blood and Iron.

The vessel carrying the books and materials is currently at the Savannah harbor.
Our freight forwarder is drafting the necessary customs paperwork as I write this.
Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect to clear customs and arrive at the Container Freight Station in Orlando by April 24.
Delivery to Quartermaster Logistics (the point from which your individual packages will be sent) is scheduled for the final week of April.
I will provide a more granular shipping timeline once these logistical steps are finalized.
Regarding customs: we expect a 10% tariff on production costs for all goods; this should be a fairly trivial amount. While your Pledge Manager surveys should already account for this, we are holding off on processing any outstanding charges until the final amounts are confirmed.
In Other News
I previously mentioned that our editor, Sean Newton, was working on a Valraven short story. We received the final draft today; I’ve started reading it, and it is excellent. We’ll perform a quick review with Alberto, the game’s author, to ensure everything is lore-accurate.
After that, I’ll move the story into layout. I’m planning to offer multiple formats to accommodate different reading preferences. Expect the final version to land in your inbox within a couple of weeks—all backers will receive a copy.

I have a quick update regarding our fulfillment progress across the globe:
🇪🇺 European Union: Fulfillment for both Italy and the rest of the EU is now complete. A few packages were returned to us, but we have already contacted the affected backers to resolve those cases.
🇬🇧🌏 UK & Rest of the World (Excluding US): This phase took slightly longer than anticipated due to the hub's existing queue, but all packages have now officially left the building. Zatu should have sent tracking emails to everyone; if you haven't received yours yet, please let me know and I will track it down for you. Most UK orders should arrive next week, with international destinations following in the weeks after.
🇺🇸 United States: Everything is currently in transit. You can monitor the shipment progress via the following links:
The ship is scheduled to dock in Savannah in mid April. While I wish I could make the vessel move a bit faster, I’m pleased that it’s making steady progress given the current international climate. At this time, I don’t expect regional conflicts to impact the journey itself, though they may eventually affect our final shipping costs (Valraven is about sacrifice, after all). It is what it is, and we are moving forward.
I’ll continue to keep you updated as the situation evolves.

European Union
Italy: Completed. All Italian backer rewards have been shipped.
Rest of the EU: We are approximately halfway through. Orders are being dispatched in batches; we estimate two more rounds are needed to finish. All shipments should be complete by the end of February at the latest.
UK & Rest of the World (Excluding US)
The pallet of books and accessories has cleared customs and is scheduled to reach Zatu by this Friday. Once I receive confirmation that the "eagle has landed," we hope to begin shipping as early as next week.
United States
The situation is less dramatic than previously feared. Tariff threats have de-escalated for the time being, so we are moving forward with sea freight. We’re getting these books on a boat now and staying optimistic about the next 45 days of transit.
I have received a reasonable estimate from Quartermaster Logistics and we are proceeding with them. As soon as our onboarding is confirmed, I will schedule the pickup. The books are ready to be loaded onto a big, beautiful ship—some might even call it "tremendous."
Jokes aside, we’ve now entered the "waiting" phase. I know the delay isn't ideal, but the process is officially in motion. I will continue to update you as the shipment progresses.
Update on Alchemy
We have reached an agreement with Alchemy to move Valraven into the priority lane. The books should be ingested over the next two weeks. If all goes well, everything should be online in about a month. I have also committed to revising the Quickstart to include it in the offering, which I will be prioritizing over the next few days.
We’re almost there!
