The first drafts for the Collector's Edition slipcase are in!
Drafts by @verface
If you're a Collector's Edition backer, please let me know your thoughts in the comments - depending on your feedback, I'll decide which draft to use for the slipcase!
Furthermore, all surveys have been sent. If you have any issues, please reach out to infosettingoffpnp.com. We're on track with the layout and illustrations - everything should be ready for print within two months!
Just letting you know that I'm preparing the pledge manager surveys right now. I'll most likely send it out in the coming week, and you'll be able to check your pledge, shipping, and everything else. The survey will also include the first step for our Founder's pledges to get in touch with me, so we can design your custom creatures for the core rules!
Meanwhile, we're working hard on finishing the illustrations and layout of the core rules. There are only a few creature illustrations left, and we're solving the last issues with the layout. We're on track to finish the core rules by October!
At the same time, I've been polishing the Basic Rules, the first adventure, which has been renamed to "Of Monsters & Mothers", and the second adventure "Almost Dragons", available for free to our VIP pledges and available for purchase at a later date. I'm happy to announce that I've translated the Basic Rules and the first adventure to german, which will be available online and at conventions.
Finally, and most importantly, I'm excited to announce the third adventure: "The Black Rose"! The adventure is a collaboration with Maf @m_maf_f and Oliver, and will be set in their original setting The Undergarden! You wanted a Muskets & Magic adventure and you'll come face to face with one of the Empire's most dangerous crime bosses in "The Black Rose"!
I'm looking forward to tell you more in the coming weeks! Tim
I'm back from Dokomi, just in time to announce that we achieved over 8.000 EUR funding! What does that mean? In addditional to all your other rewards, every pledge gets an additional adventure for free!
We're approaching the end of our campaign, and while we might not reach the 12.000 EUR funding goal, I want to reassure everyone that we will be working on VTT integration - it might just take a moment. As of now, our priorities are to finish the book itself and get it to print. Then, we will publish the first adventures - A Monster By Any Other Name, Almost Dragons, and the yet unnamed Muskets & Magic module unlocked by you. Finally, I will translate the core rules and adventures to german, while working on boxed sets of the adventures with miniatures and all the game supplies you need to start playing.
I'm excited for the finish line, and everything that comes after!
Things will quiet down over the next few days, as I'm visiting Dokomi in Düsseldorf, Germany! If you want to catch me at a convention in the next months, I will have a booth at Shiroco (in Chemnitz, July 12th to 13th), SPIEL (in Essen, October 23th to 26th), and possibly Dreieichcon (in Dreieich, November 15th to 16th). I'm hoping to visit conventions in the US next year!
I also wanted to take a moment to talk about the Collectors Edition pledge level. Apart from the other goodies, what is the ominous slipcase you get?
The slipcase will not be available for retail, and is exclusive to crowdfunding and future promotions. It's a booksleeve that not only protects the Setting Off! core rules and has additional space for dice, but is going to look incredible - because we've picked the artist who will be working on it: Ver @verface! We want to choose the design with our Collectors Edition backers, so stay tuned for previews and polls on Backerkit and Discord!
I'm extremely excited to see this alternative edition of the core rules come to live!
With the adventure poll concluded, I can announce that the next adventure module for Setting Off! will be Muskets and Magic! I'm torn between an adventure about a magical malfunction at the weapons factory or a high seas tresure race, but let me know your thoughts!
For those who voted for another genre: fear not! I will eventually write an adventure for every genre, and I'll keep those in mind that got votes.
Apart from releasing adventures as booklets and PDFs, I'm also planning to create adventure boxes! They include everything necessary to play, such as maps, minis and more!
