Good Morning Backers,

We are finally moving!  Packages are starting to move out the door.  Certainly much later than we had planned but better quality than we had hoped. There are plenty of reasons why this took so long, but to sum it up this project had quite a few models with some complex features and figuring out how to build them was a formidable challenge. We wanted these figures to be an enjoyable modeling experience and provide some nice posable options for the Hobgoblin Warriors and Grilps too. As of this moment, these are the most awesome models we have had the pleasure of building. We think you will agree they will be worth the wait. Even the Stretch goals are a complete encounter by themselves!

Manufacturing Changes and Bonus Content...

We ended up parting the Hobgoblin Warriors in such a way that you could pose the model and have some variation. Personally, I've never liked bunches of monopose models for skirmish type games and Lord Varrox has has an army! You are going to need piles of warriors for the encounters in Camp Firefield and the new adventures from MCDM's (Crack The Sun). I think it is important to have the ability to break up the battlefield with unique poses for your adventures. It is also best to have a standardized look and feel for your army of antagonists. This is a list of all the changes, perks and modifications we made for this project...

• Hobgoblin Warriors and Grilps
  • Hobgoblin Warriors are now multipart body, left arm with shield, head, right arm and right handed flail. The flail is metal and easily adjustable and hard to break. The flails were far to flimsy as prints so we decided to make them into metal so that the user can adjust to an appealing shape. Depending on how you put your models together you can make about 60+ combinations! I'll look into a short video of assembly next week for us.
  • You are now getting 4 Grilps as Stretch Goals instead of 3. We ended up with 2 posable Grilps consisting of two of each body sets, wing sets, heads and tails. You can make about 24 combinations of models for these guys and the wing form is adjustable with the ball socket. Because we had 2 sets of model parts it was best to make a 2 model tray of these little buggers.  So you now get two trays = 4 grilps.
  • Bases!  All hobgoblins now come with a 1" RPG base.  The puddle base just didn't cut it or look awesome enough.
  • Tactician in metal. There was no art for this fella and I always envisioned him as a character.  We decided to put him in metal in the event you want to use him as a PC and just because metal is cool.

Kobold Box 

• Kobold Heroes are now Metal! These little bits are cool and we think they deserve a little more heft for their hard hitting punch in game. We made some prints and some resins of the models, and they just didn't weighty enough for their prominence. Being an 'older' gamer, I've always enjoyed metal models and it was an easy decision to make these little hellions even more awesome once we had them in hand.
• The Legionaires and Veles are on print strips and we had a few extra heads modeled up for each. There are three bodies for each Legionaire and Veles and 5 head variants. This gives you quite a few combinations and even more if you put Veles heads on Legionaires and vice versa.
• We didn't do bases for these fellas because the 1" base we have access to was just too large. We recommend washers or pennies for these when you build them. Plus with Pennies going out of style in the US, you will have a limited edition model!

• Villain Parties
  • The Black Iron Pact is in glorious metal and pretty darn close to the image.
  • We've posted the Wilderkith before and are still solving the Soul Binders (see notes below about split ships)

• Materials
  • 2025 has been a game changer for us regarding materials and manufacturing. At Trenchworx, we manufacture in multiple mediums including resin, metal, 3D print and siocast. We've been 3D Printing for about 15 years and considering all that history, our process has advanced another Ten Fold Plus in 2025. We have developed new methods for manufacturing, custom materials and new workflows using our 3D printing work cells. The 3D printed models we build now have higher quality and durability than our traditional resin and siocast. Every single week we push our 3D printing system with new techniques and offerings. We even developed a new delivery method called the SNAP TRAY. You can learn more about that HERE.

• Work Flow
  • With the development of our 3D printing system, we added another work cell, STARGATE, next to our BUFFY line. General Hammond and Captain Jack O'Neil plus Apophis and many others are producing massive numbers of models right next to Buffy, Giles and Spike and their host of co-stars. At one count we had produced about 4,000+ figures in a day!

What Is Shipping...

To start we are split shipping the Kobolds, Goblins, Stretch Goals, and 2 of the 3 Villains.  We need another couple weeks out the stragglers we had for the Hobgoblins, but they will be sent as the 2nd half of the split ships as soon as we have them kitted.  We think we will catch up to complete orders within the first 50 or so shipments.  We only have about 275 to ship so we are looking at completing that in the next 5 to 6 weeks.  We really tried to get these out the door for the holidays, but just ran out of time and had a few too many issues.  Shipments have started and several should see their shipping notices daily. We intend to progress in backer order and some spot shipments for easier orders if you only ordered a Pinna or Slaughter Demon for instance.

Evening All,

I hope your weekend has been relaxing. There's a good bit of info to go through for you in this week's update.

Address Updates Requested
First up, we've locked down the Pre-Order store for all items.  We also sent out the request for you to update your shipping addresses before we lock them in the next 48 hours. Yay! That means we are close to sending things.

Shipping
At the moment, the only thing keeping us from starting shipping is a few models remaining from our contract artists. The ones we need the most are the Grilps because they are part of the stretch goals that go in every package. We have assurances from our artists that we should have those models early next week and we can get those converted and wrap up the the freebie stretch goal package.  The Stretch goals include 3 Free Grilps, 3 Free Kobold Legionaires and 3 Free Hobgoblin Warriors plus the metal Pinna.

Two other models are outstanding which include the Hobgoblin Mage who we expect next week. The last models are the little trap features the Kobold Artifex uses (Fire Trap, Spike Trap and Beehives). We should have the traps the week after next. During all this model delay, we hired another artist to help us fill in gaps and she is doing an excellent job for us and helped us get this back on track. Her latest work is the in the backer only content below.

Final Digital Models
Digital backers are waiting on the Hobgoblin Mage, Grilps, Kobold traps and the Slaughter Demon. We will have him parted out and ready to download Monday/Tuesday of this coming week.  He was a particular type of bastard only because of polygon issues on our part. We got that sorted this past Friday and I can assure you that he is worth the wait!

LESSON LEARNED!! - This is the last crowd funder we will execute without completed models.  This is far too disruptive for all involved to not have these ready to go prior project kickoff. That means we will have to do things a bit differently next time, but we have that worked out too.

• Hobgoblin Tactician - The most PC type model of all the Hobgoblin collection
• Quar, Human Monk - Yep, he is THE QUAR from the Black Iron Pact, for those who don't have the metal version in the villain party, this 3D print will work great as a Monk PC and it is ok to have him as a good guy.
• Vali - Elf Archer -An archer from the Wilderkith Villains. A great PC for a Ranger, Assassin or long range threat in your adventuring group.
• Argon Rael - Tiefling Badass, 'nuff said. Argon is part of the Soul Binders party.
• Kobold Adeptus - A great little model for a wizard of dragonborn sorcerer PC.
• Two Additional Hobgoblin Brand Bearers - they are quite useful and you will need extras in Camp Firefield plus we didn't have a way to get you some extras except here.
• Beastheart Weasel - RECORD SCRATCH... WAIT, WHAT THE WHAT WHAT! - Yep, that cute little Beastheart Weasel Companion from the MCDM 'Beastheart and Monstrous Companions' expansion. More on this little fella in the Backer Only update below.

Shipping
Once we have the missing models we are looking to start shipping orders the week of the 20th.  We think we will ship about 30-60 orders per week until we are done. We only have about 300 physical orders to process so should be through all this by mid-October. We are also looking at doing some partial shipments for the particularly large orders that have beastheart bundles and other add-ons to get those goods in your hands. It costs a little more to manage, but we think that will help move the orders out the door.

What's Next?
Later today, you will receive an invite to our next project called SNAP TRAY.

During all the craziness of this year, the need to manage through tariffs, missing models, supply issues and a host of other setbacks, we needed to adapt and develop a new way to make things. As an engineer by training, the old adage of 'Necessity is the Mother of Invention' has never been more true. We developed a new way to print our models in a form that allowed easy support removal after cure. We've been using similar techniques for several years with our bits and component parts, but this is the first time we've offered full squads, units and kits with all the necessary parts in a single package. Feedback from our conventions and other Trenchworx products has been very positive.

SNAP TRAY will be a giant Bonanza of model offerings from Trenchworx, MCDM, Victoria Miniatures, Knuckleduster Miniatures, Lost Heresy Miniatures and Spikey Bits. We will be making SNAP TRAYs of models from many different genres all in one place. It is sure to be a wild and crazy ride. Be sure to follow when you get your email notification. DIGITAL STUFF...

PHYSICAL STUFF..

• The 100+ goblin boxes are complete and staged for pick.
• All of the Add-Ons that aren't part of this project are complete and staged for pick.
• We are casting the Wilderkith and Black Iron Pact Villain Parties. We decided to print Logger as one massive model ready to wreak havoc on forest invaders. We think that will be a better setup for him and he will be cleaned of supports. 
• Metal Pinna is complete.
• We are parting out for production the Soul Binders.
• We've made a few production adjustments to the kobolds. We will be making the heroes and characters in metal 'cause metal is awesome and perfect for these little hellions. The Dragonlin will be resin as originally planned and we will print rather than siocast the Legionaires and Veles. We looked back at the goblin project and found that we wished we had printed the warriors and lackeys instead of siocast, but our print tech wasn't quite ready for the volume last year. We've honed our printing system significantly in the last 12 months and the models look terrific.
• The hobgoblins will still have a mix of all mediums and we are casting Varrox now.
• We are wrapping up of the bonus Snap Tray packed with extra kobolds, goblins and other goodies. Even the new Pinna variant will make it to the set! It will take us a few days to make the 300+ additional trays for the project and is scheduled to print in late August.

QUEEN BARGNOT FOR DRAW STEEL

Afternoon Backers,

We've got an update for physical and digital backers today.  At the moment, we have all but the kobold and hobgoblin characters.  About 5-6 of each faction. We do have the 'troopers' from both factions. We intend to start distributing waves of the digital minis any day now and I'll review more down the page a bit.  We are looking at shipping physicals by September as well and more on that in a bit too.

Pinna's Healing Salve - Freebies!

We know we are a few months overdue and don't like it one bit.  What we are going to do is provide some free stuff for both the physical and digital backers to cure the wait on our tardiness.

Digital Backers will receive free of charge our FOrx and SPorx Cutlery Kit which features our fantasy and space orc range and lots of goodies for customizing orc models. Who doesn't need more orcs in their dungeon???

Physical Backers eligible for stretch goals will receive an extra tray of basic 'Nare-Do-Wells' in their packages too.  This is a test shot of a tray of items that includes several basic kobolds, hobgoblins, goblins and other critters.  Somewhere between 10 and 20 models.  We are still working on the sizing and composition so we can do this effectively and the models will be mono-pose with fixtured heads.  That will allow us to pack the most content on the tray for you.  We think this is a pretty cool bonus for the physical orders and will certainly help populate your dungeon!

Lastly, we've lined up Patrick Keith to do a repose of Pinna as a hearty adventurer with a staff and spell book (maybe that tome from Mixlax's table!) suitable for dungeon delving.  We will include this in the digital backer reward as well as an additional printed model on the freebie tray for the Physicals.

All of these freebies will be available to any new backers that hop on the pre-order too.  The pre-order is at a higher pricing level than the original crowd funder though.

Once again, we want to make sure you're happy with the project and we think these items will help compensate for our delay.

Why The Delay

It's been pretty hectic in 2025.  We started with about 70% of our raw materials sourced in the US and needed to move the rest over to a US source.  Hunting that down and getting new materials qualified has been a pretty significant chore.  We are happy to say that we're at 99% of US sourced raw materials. 

One big assist came from a US company, 3DRS, who we've worked with for quite some time.  They helped us formulate our 3D print resin so that we could get the performance we needed locally.  If you print minis and are US based, check them out here...  3DRS website.  They have some great materials and offer free shipping!

Our metal supplier also helped us source a US Based replacement silicone and resin for our plastic process.  Waking up to potential 50% EU tariffs one random morning was a bit of a shock, but we think we have this under control too.

All in all, it takes a great deal of time just to figure out what we need to replace, find a reputable source and then test all the different material options to make sure they do what we want them to do.  We certainly learned a lot but definitely didn't plan to have to do it!

Delivery Timing

We will start the digital distribution of models soon via MyMiniFactory.  We have everyone's pledge manager emails for distribution.  It will take about 3-5 more weeks because we still need to finish supporting and test printing many of the the models we have.  That said, we are distributing the goblins and the Orx shortly to all the digital recipients along with a few others.
