The Factory - Printing Facility for TTRPGs

WE have included ADD-ONs that allow you to purchase multiple bricks, or bundle them, and even more spots on the wall or trees if you are so inclined!

This is the home of the FUTURE FACTORY! Enjoy this nice tour of the land TLG acquired a few months ago.

YOU can be a part of this. With your name on a wall or etched into a brick, you can be a permanent part of building this manufacturing and warehousing facility in the United States.

  • YOU
  • YOUR CHARACTER
  • YOUR LOVED ONES
  • YOUR ENEMY WHOM SHALL BE VISCOUSLY MOCKED BRICK BY BRICK
  • YOUR STORE
  • YOUR FAVORITE GM
  • YOUR GAMING GROUP
  • YOUR CONVENTION

Be a part of gaming history!

This is an artist's rending of what the future print shop and office building will look like. Behind it will be a warehouse, loading zone (gravel) and the Grove!

How Do I Join?

Troll Lord Games has been in the TTRPG and Fiction publishing business since 1999. We added a print shop to our operation in 2005, allowing us to print most of our softcover books in-house. We've done this in small detached print shops, which are often cramped and difficult to navigate. Despite this, the print shop has been in continual operation for 20 years. Our current print master is Dakota McMurry.

Though Troll Lord Games prints our books in the United States (outsourcing hardcover books to US-based printers), we are acutely aware of the dislocation that recent economic turns have caused.  Because of that and due to our own amazing recent growth, we decided that now is the time to begin building our own space: our own Factory.

TLG is an Arkansas-based company. It stands to reason that we will remain in Arkansas. We have taken the proceeds from our recent success and purchased land in the small town of Beebe, Arkansas... 5 acres, "or there abouts", as the survey says ("That's the most Arkansas thing I've seen in a month of Sundays" ~ Steve C.). This land will host the TLG Factory.

Plans for the two buildings have been drawn up. Fincancing has been secured for both buildings and the buildings are going up this summer and fall.

Troll Lord Games has always been a community-forward company; we could never have accomplished all we've done over the past 25 years without your support, input, and shared enthusiasm for the hobby that unites us all. We want your names immortalized in the building that will help propel the TTRPG business forward for the next 25 years and beyond! The Factory gives a home to TLG, to other publishers who want the security of manufacturing here in the United States.

With an investment as small as $25 or as grand as $2,500, you'll leave a permanent mark on the Factory with your name on The Wall of Names, The Mason's Path, or in Mordius's Grove. Your names will serve as a constant reminder of all those who have helped us make this possible.

Thank you for helping us make history!

NOTE:
If you back the Grove you automatically receive a brick and your name on the wall. If you purchase a brick you automatically get your name on the wall!

Pledge Levels

Who Can Invest?

Anyone can join the fray. It can be your personal name, a character's name, your Game Store, Convention, business, or even party name.

*Note: we reserve the right to make sure the names are on point! I'm talking to you Tom Tullis of Fat Dragon Games!

There are three available options: The Wall of Names, the Mason Path and the Mordius Grove.

The Wall of Names

Leave your mark on TLG's legacy. By investing $25, you’ll have your name entered into the roster of those who helped build the TLG print facility. Your $25 helps build out the wall in the entry way. The return for your investment comes in the form of your name, your favorite character's name, or your store, convention, or company being inscribed into the wall for all to see.

Mason's Path

Pave the way for the next generation of gamers. By investing $100, you'll purchase a single brick carved with your name, your favorite character's name, or your store, convention, or company name. That brick will be installed in the walkway leading up to the print facility, or into the Mordius Grove located in the back field of the property. The more bricks we have to work with, the more walking paths we'll plan!

Mordius Grove

Help us give back to the land. In the back corner of the TLG property, we have planned to build a small grove. There, we’ll plant 10 trees, along with native shrubs and grass, and a small walking path and whatever else Davis Chenault decides. You can choose one of the trees from the list below, and as supplies allow, we’ll have the tree professionally planted. The tree purchased will be a sapling, 6-10 feet tall. Your investment not only purchases the tree but also includes your name, your favorite character's name, or your store, convention, or company name immortalized on a plaque set before the tree in the Grove of Mordius.

Choose from the following trees:

Red Buck Eye
Dogwood
Black Maple
Sugar Maple
Northern Red Oak
Sycamore
American Sweet Gum

The Importance of this Build

Since I took the helm of TLG in 2003, we have printed all of our books in the United States. There are a host of reasons for this, ranging from a love of my country, to a need to see those who do the heavy lifting fairly compensated, to a desire to help keep the environment clean– to be a good steward of the land, as it were.

Every business, every publisher, has to make a decision about what is best for their business. I read a great deal of history and I am well aware of how fast situations can change; we all got a dose of that reality when the pandemic started. We are also keenly aware that it is important for us to support our local communities. Wherever you are in the world, supporting your local community is the best way to guarantee a better tomorrow for everyone. And though there are reasons both personal and patriotic that we choose to manufacture stateside, there are also some very sound business reasons we chose this path:

  • It is good for your business as it creates personal relationships with people in your community. We’ve been with the same sales rep for hardcover books for over 20 years, and that comes in handy more often than you could imagine.

  • It is good because it protects the environment. It cuts down on trans-oceanic shipping and makes certain that the goods you are manufacturing are done so in a safe and clean manner, and that waste is properly handled.

  •  It is good for labor. The people who make your products are being compensated fairly and properly for their labor.

  • It is good for the local community as it pumps revenue into secondary businesses, restaurants, gas stations and so on.

Manufacturing locally (and for me this is has always been a huge one) reduces the economic uncertainty created by an unstable world. It ensures that you will receive the books you order in a timely manner and that someone here has their hands on quality control.

Join us in expanding the footprint of our print shop into a nice printing facility for us, you, and the community; in addition to a gardened grove full of native flora, it'll contain the names and messages of the community who made it all possible.

Shipping & Delivery

Your pledge does not include physical rewards; nothing will be shipped to you. Once you have submitted the name you'd like immortalized, it will be engraved onto the item indicated by your pledge and installed during construction. We will find your name and send you a picture of it when the construction is complete.

If you have invested in the Mordius Grove, your name will be engraved on a stone set at the foot of the tree you have chosen. We will send you a picture when it is planted and the tree is settled in its new home.
