Project Update: Interview With a Kobold, poll final day + details, next goal
I was interviewed by YEET the Kobold from 9th Level Games!
In this ~13 minute episode, we chat about Mystery Snacks, some of the inspirations for the game, and how cozy mysteries are not just for kids ("Man on the Inside" is a GREAT example). It was A LOT of fun, and I recommend you check out other episodes with YEET as well. For this one, though, you can find it here!
Last day for poll
Today is the last day to vote for the collab 1-pager! The two options are pretty close, and the lead could flip today, so make sure to get your say in ASAP!
For the 1-pager, I also wanted to announce that I plan on using this goblin-themed art pack by Guillaume Jentey for my illustrations! I'm going to pick a few of the chill to cute looking goblins (and one very chaotic one), and I'm pretty excited for that. Guillaume Jentey is a French artist who I have chatted with a few times about game design and translations, and I'm glad to be able to use his work for one of my projects soon.
Stretch goal status
With regards to stretch goals, we are, as of this morning, <$200 from adding a new adventure from Dan!
Dan has run the Almost Bedtime Theater podcast, featuring tabletop RPGs that he's played with his daughter and her cousin, and has published SEVERAL awesome all-ages TTRPGs, including The Librarian's Apprentice (Crit awarded for Best Solo Game).
We have 8 days to go for the campaign, and, during that time, please check out Mystery Snacks if you haven't already and/or help share the project so we can fund including work from Dan!
Thank you all for following along, and I'll be back soon!

Project Update: Poll results, new poll, collab bonus, library donation, oh my!
Last week's Mystery Snacks poll is closed, and I'll be making my 1-pager for my backers + the Zinetopia anthology about fantasy bakery roll tables! I'm planning on having tables for baked goods, kitchen chaos, and customers so there's plenty to use for your adventures.
Next up, I have another poll! This one is to help pick the tone for the collab 1-pager that I'm doing as part of my team up with La Lionne's 1-page TTRPG Bundle project!
Vote in the poll to determine if this adventure will be cozy or mischevious, and back both projects to get the reward!
While you're checking out the projects, please also check out the library donation tier and add-on for Mystery Snacks. With this level:
- You get a digital copy of the game
- A library gets a physical copy of the game
- I cover shipping to the library
Backing this now also supports the stretch goals for Mystery Snacks, hopefully helping us unlock a 7th mystery for the book soon!
I'll have another update for you on Thursday, please help share the project so folks who would enjoy the game can find it + we can expand the book for everyone, and thank you for the support so far!
Thank you,
Steph, TTRPGkids.com

Project Update: Another stretch goal, game features, poll closing soon, and What if World shout out!
Lyla will now be part of the writing team, creating a whole new mystery for the game!
So far, we have 6 pre-made mysteries going into the zine (both physical and digital), and I'm thinking we can add a few more too. Our next stretch goal writer is Dan from Almost Bedtime Theater, and I'm curious to see what he has planned!
Formatting highlight:
With this update, I also want to talk about one of the main features of Mystery Snacks, which is our formatting. Thanks to some wonderful work from BoRyan of Gravy Press, we have a fun cookbook style layout to help with following the "recipe" for the mystery!
Each section is grouped in a way that helps you hone in on what part of the adventure you're referencing, and our breakdown includes what I have always seen as the core elements of a mystery - a good hook, interesting suspects, intriguing clues, dramatic challenges, and a satisfying reveal.
Feature on What if World:
This week, Mystery Snacks is in the mid-episode spot on What if World podcast!
What if World is a storytelling podcast for young audiences where action is driven by dice rolls! I've played a game on one of their episodes before, and they are some cool folks.

Poll closing soon:
Later today, the poll for my Zinetopia 1-pager will be closing! There's a couple options that are pretty close, so cast your vote today to help pick what bonus game will be part of the Zinetopia collaboration zine AND going out to all Mystery Snacks backers as an extra bonus.
I'm planning to have another update + poll on Monday, so until then, thank you for your continued support and... happy gaming!!

Project Update: Vote for what game you want me to make + Feb zines highlights
Mystery Snacks is over 200% funded and still going with another stretch goal on the horizon. While we're waiting to see just how many more mysteries we will be able to add, I want to see what you all wanted me to make for the Zinetopia bonus 1-pager!
There's a poll attached to this message where you can vote on what I'll be submitting for the Zinetopia collaboration zine. In addition to this 1-pager being part of the collection, I will also be sending this free to all folks who have backed Mystery Snacks at any tier.
ALSO... I did a highlight on other kid-friendly TTRPGs that are funding this month on various platforms, and I hope it helps you find some cool games while supporting other indie creators! You can find the post here on the TTRPGkids website with a bit of a teaser graphic below in case anything catches your eye right away:
Thank you for following along, please make sure to vote for our 1-pager, and... happy gaming!!

Project Update: Another new mystery funded and more on the way!
Please help me in welcoming Jaclyn to the project, and I'm looking forward to seeing what mystery they devise for us all to solve!
Also, we are well on our way into funding ANOTHER stretch goal mystery, this one by Lyla!
Each goal reached helps us to improve Mystery Snacks for everyone and bring the XP from more folks onto the project, so thank you all for your support! I am happy to be making a more lengthy book for you all and excited to see folks wanting to check it out.
Keep an eye out next week because I'll be sending an update on Monday with a poll that will let YOU all decide some details for the 1-pager TTRPG I'm making for the Zine Month collaboration project (and that I'll be giving out free to all of my backers for this project too). Until then, have a good weekend!
Happy gaming!
