Help launch Ty Lane’s debut EP, recorded at Cosmic Momma Studios in Royse City, TX with producer Tim Lightyear. Your support funds studio time, vinyl/CD production, and the merch that brings his first release to life.
My name is Ty Lane. I’m a husband, a dad, and a working professional who’s been writing songs for most of my life. I don’t write to chase trends or make a splash — I write because it’s the only way I’ve ever known how to process the way life hits. Good, bad, and everything in between.
Most of my songs come from real things: long days, quiet car rides, loss, memories that stick around longer than you expect, the moments that change you even when you don’t notice it right away. Music has always been something I’ve carried with me, but this is the first time I’m stepping forward to take it seriously and put it out into the world the way it deserves.
Why This Matters
I’ve been writing for years, but everything up until now has lived on a phone, in a notebook, or in small late-night recordings. This EP is the first real step toward turning something personal into something professional. It’s something I’ve wanted for a long time, and something I’m finally ready to build from the ground up.
I’m recording at Cosmic Momma Studios in Texas — a place that supports honest songwriting and real sound. Their motto is “where the stars align,” and that’s what this feels like for me: the chance to start something I can grow, piece by piece, without pretending to be anything other than myself.
Why I’m Using Backerkit
I’m an independent artist. There’s no label, no investor, no big team behind me. Just me, my family, and the people who believe in what I’m doing. Recording professionally, producing vinyl and CDs, and creating merch all take resources. Backerkit gives me the chance to launch this project in a way that’s up front, transparent, and supported by real people who want to be part of the beginning.
This isn’t about asking for a favor. It’s about building something together — something meaningful, something real.
What You’re Supporting
You’re helping me take the first real step in a long-term music journey. You’re helping me move from writing songs in between work and family to actually releasing music I’m proud of that will help jumpstart the next phase in my musical career. You’re helping me create something I can take on the road, play live, and share with people who connect with the same kind of grounded storytelling I’ve always been drawn to.
If you’re here, it probably means you believe in the music or in me — and either one means a lot.
Disclaimer
Like all creative projects, this EP may face challenges such as minor production delays with vinyl or CDs, small schedule adjustments during the recording/mixing/mastering process, or shipping slowdowns for physical rewards. We’ve built buffer time into our timeline and chosen reliable partners to reduce these risks. If anything unexpected comes up, backers will be kept fully informed with clear, timely updates. As an independent artist, transparency and communication are our top priorities.
