Hi, everyone! Great news! The pins have arrived quicker than expected and we've been packing your orders all weekend, with most of them going out first thing tomorrow! So you should receive your dinos very soon!!
That said, there are still a portion of backers whose cards failed when charging for shipping or who still did not fill our their surveys. Please do this ASAP as I can't fulfill your rewards without it! Ideally if you can get this fixed today I will check for new orders tonight to get them out with the rest of the packages on Monday. I'll keep checking the rest of the week for stragglers to go out as well.
You will receive your order's tracking through my store's email. Estimated delivery dates are on the campaign page if you'd like to double check when to expect your package. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out, and I hope you all enjoy the pins!
Thank you so much again for backing my project! It's been so fun and the pins turned out amazing, I hope you'll agree. ♥
Hey everyone! Thanks for your patience as we finished up the last of the pins. All dinos are now complete and on their way to me shortly, so get ready for your pins very soon!!
Final Charge + Last Call for Address Changes!
I'll be initiating card charging + final address lockdown so please make sure all your info is correct! Any pay-over-time backers who have not completed the final payment your rewards will be shipped when that payment clears (if you've already paid it off then yours will ship with everyone else's orders!)
As usual my husband and I pack all orders ourselves and it usually takes us 4-5 days and our living room becomes *Ian Malcolm voice* total chaos. We should have all shipments packed and dropped off in about 2 weeks so expect to check your mailbox in roughly 3-4 weeks for your dinos. I'll make another update once your packages are all shipped.
After that, once every backer's done and shipped I will list any leftover pins on my shop as first-come-first serve if you missed the campaign or want any additional pins.
Thank you again for your support and patience with Jurassic Attack! I'm so excited to get these pins to you guys! Again, if you need any help please don't hesitate to reach out. ♥
Hey, everyone! Production is moving along and I've got some more dino pics for you today! I received photos of most of the pins' samples and they look stunning!
The neon rex came out even better than I thought it would! The blue is is so striking! I'm currently working with the manufacturer on the rest of the pins—a few of them have funky colors right now so we're getting those fixed up, but overall they're coming to life as imagined!
Thanks so much for your patience with the project—I appreciate it and I know you'll love the pins when they arrive in your mailbox soon this summer. ♥
I'll update you again when they're ready to ship and when I'll be charging cards for shipping + survey add-ons. Any questions just let me know!
Hey guys! A couple of backers brought something to my attention with my previous update, notably that the pins are soft enamel with epoxy, not hard enamel as stated in the Pintopia campaign. I want to apologize and let backers know that this was completely unintentional.
I had originally written hard enamel while I was prototyping my campaign page as I had a more cartoony, simpler-styled dinosaur idea in mind, but then after re-working my designs I realized that due to the complexity they would be best as soft enamel like the rest of my large pins from my previous campaigns. I had pulled an all-nighter the night before Pintopia launched to get graphics done, which I guess ended up meaning I glossed over the actual pin info thinking that was already done. I'm genuinely embarrassed about this mistake and upset as I pride myself for accuracy.
What's Soft Enamel vs Hard Enamel?
For those who may not know: soft enamel and hard enamel are two different techniques for making enamel pins. With one, the enamel is, well, soft, and does not come all the way to the "top" of the pin, resulting in a beveled look. To make soft enamel pins smooth like hard enamel, epoxy is used as a finish, resulting in a smooth glass-like surface. Hard enamel, on the other hand, is filled all the way to the top from the start, then sanded and buffed down to a smooth finish.
These two techniques can look very different, but they can also look very similar when epoxy is applied. For instance, my Chimera pins are soft enamel with epoxy, but have epoxy evenly applied to create a smooth surface, which is how screen-print is applied as you would normally apply print to hard enamel. All of that to say, if you don't know the difference between soft and hard enamel, please don't worry—the pins will be exactly the same quality, they will not functionally be any different. I always make sure no matter which method I use that my pins are nothing but the best.
That said, I know that some people still prefer hard enamel on principle, and I would not want to force anyone to accept something they're not happy with. If you are unhappy with how the pins look please send me a message and I will do what I can to help you! This was my mistake, and I'm always happy to make things right if you, the backer, are not satisfied in any way.
Thank you for your understanding and I'll update again as soon as I can!
Hey guys! Thanks for your patience, and sorry this update is coming later than anticipated! The pins are taking a bit longer to get right and are still mid production. The stickers and bling bags are finished though! I have some sneak peek photos to share:
Egg-citing bags!
The first dino is colored!
WIP pin coloring!
Fret not, many of the dinos are still missing their full plummage (or scales) and are still mid-enameling, so you may notice they look "empty" without the screen print.
The blind bags look great and I've already received those so they're ready to fill with compys! Stickers are in hand as well so just waiting on the pins now.
Because the pins are taking longer than expected I've pushed back the project completion estimation date to next month and will keep you guys updated on the ship date. Sorry for the delay—I always want to make sure the pins come out right and are the best they can be! Sit tight for a bit and I should get another update when we're close to completion, hopefully in a few short weeks. 🤞
Thanks again for backing this project and helping bring it (back) to life! As always any questions just let me know!
