In On Call, you play as a werewolf who can’t shift during the full moon cycle (night before, during and after the full moon). Instead you and your colleagues are on call - dealing with any issues that arise that are tied to any of your pack members.
Hey folks! On Call is completely written! The second this backerkit funds you'll have access to the game and the playtesting form. I am launching this to cover the cost of layout and artists and editors! To cut down on the cost to you the backers I'm not paying myself from this! Any money I make will be from sales once the project is complete!
In On Call, you play as a werewolf who can’t shift during the full moon cycle (night before, during and after the full moon). Instead you and your colleagues are on call - dealing with any issues that arise that are tied to any of your pack members.
From toddlers displaying abilities earlier than they should, to dangerous hunters hoping to sell authentic werewolf fur, it’s your responsibility to keep everyone safe.
___
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
2d6 (or 4d6 if you don't like rerolling dice)
1 to 2 players
GM
MECHANICS OF THE GAME
You have +3, +2, 0, +2, + 3 to put in Charisma, Instinct, Intelligence, Reflex and Strength.
Charisma: persuade, deceive
Instinct: perception, insight
Intelligence: reasoning, memory
Reflex: speed, evade
Strength: lift, strike
Control: health and stamina
Control is different from the other stats. You can put it at a 1, 2, or 3. 1 represents you're a weaker wolf who has a hard time controlling their shifting. 3 means you're just a step below a pack master, the pinnacle of strength and control.
When you take damage you subtract the number from your Control stat! When you're trying to not shift you roll 2d6 and add your Control stat.
You might be asking yourself, “why would I want to be a weak werewolf?” That’s a great question. This game isn’t meant to just be about optimization. While that is a valid way to play it the Control stat is meant for you to sit and think about what your werewolf would truly be as a character. Some are strong. Some are weak. There's no wrong choice, just choices that make your werewolf unique.
If you're playing with a friend you can give each other a Helping Hand allowing you to roll 3d6 and pick the highest!
You can also Tap Into Your Wolf allowing you to roll 4d6 instead (does not stack with Helping Hand) but watch out! After you do that you have to make a Control roll. If you fail, you shift into your full wolf form and lose the game!
ANSWERING SCENARIOS
You're technically your own Dispatcher! You get a call from someone and then you head out to handle the Scenario.
Each Scenario has a Scenario Score which is broken down into Physical and Mental. When you attempt a roll you need to be either the Physical or Mental score.
If you were trying to attack someone you'd need to beat the physical score
If you were trying to lie to someone you'd need to be the mental score.
Scenarios have a Call Score (which is a combination of the mental and physical score) that shows how many points a particular Scenario is worth at the end of the game
FINISHING THE GAME
Once you've done all the scenarios you want to do (3 minimum suggested for 1 player, 5 minimum suggested for 2 players) you add up the score for the all the Scenarios you succeeded and all the Scenarios you failed. Which every score is higher determines if you've won or lost the game!
On Call is a part of the Revealed Universe, set in a world where the monsters thought to belong to fairytales and horror movies are real and have revealed themselves to the world.
In 2005 representatives from a variety of magical and supernatural creatures approached the various governments of the world, revealing themselves to them. The delegation wanted to come up with a plan to share their existence with the world. Ten years later in 2015 those same representatives and a number of others went on live television across the world revealing themselves and the international Department of Magical Entities and Occurrences which was meant to help coexistence among the mundane and supernatural/magical world. --
The area of West Yellowstone has had werewolves far longer than the town has existed, with the first packs settling in the area in 1783. When the Union Pacific Railroad, initially called Riverside, was built through the area in 1907 people began to fully settle the area. Even with that it wouldn't be incorporated as a town officially until 1966.
Despite the packs best efforts the people of West Yellowstone were made aware of their existence in 1925 sparking a series of deaths from both sides before a truce was called. Even with this tentative peace, grudges have been held, even to this day. Jude Harvey, the leader of the local pack, has a long standing grudge against James Marshall for the death of a relative. The Marshall family has the same grudge against the Harvey's.
When the Great Reveal happened not much of everyday life changed for the people of Yellowstone. There was more danger as people began to learn there were werewolves roaming the woods and wanted to try to claim their fur. But life goes on. The people continue to co-exist.
A little under two dozen West Yellowstone pack members amble around the smallest conference room in the Three Bear Lodge. Ralf, a short black man with a bald head and light red beard, sits with his feet up on the table. “Anyone know why we’re here?”
“I called you here.”
The small meeting room falls silent as the doors open revealing Jude Harvey, the pack master. Their sneakers squeak across the linoleum and their black leather jacket crinkles with each step as they approach the front of the room.
“The full moon is in three days, and we need three new people to be on call. Dorian, Glen and Sonia had a family emergency and can’t make their shifts,” as they take off their bright red baseball cap, Jude pulls a plastic bag filled with folded slips of paper out of their jacket pocket and dumps them into the cap. “Now to make it fair I’ve grabbed names of people that aren’t on call for a while and put them in here. Whoever I pick is taking their spots.”
Groans and curses fill the room with Harper, a lightly tanned blonde woman, shouting, “Oh come on Jude! Can’t we just be short this time around? All of us have some sort of plans for that night.”
They wait for the room to fall silent again before training their eyes on Harper.
“You know what Harper, that's a great idea! Let’s be short three people. I’m sure nothing will go wrong. Everything will be fine and if it's not I’m sure the others will be able to handle it.” with each word Harper shrinks in on herself. “It’s not like we’ve ever had major issues in the past. No DMEO agents have ever needed anything from us. No hunters have ever tried to hurt us. You all can leave. Go on everyone, get out.”
Jude looks around waiting for their order to be followed. No one moves. “Like I said whoever I pick is taking their spots.”

Revealed Universe Bundle
On Call is a part of the Revealed Universe, set in a world where the monsters thought to belong to fairytales and horror movies are real and have revealed themselves to the world. I have TWO other games also set in this world:
HuntRPG YOU'RE AN AGENT And you're on the hunt. Travel across the United States hunting down rogues, vampires that have decided the laws of society no longer apply to them and spend their days killing and devouring citizens, both the living and undead. Put an end to your fellow vampires, either by killing them or turning them over to your agency - likely for experimentation.
YOU'RE A ROGUE And you're being hunted. Two things drive you: an all-consuming blinding hot thirst and staying alive and free. Traveling across the United States, leaving scores of bodies in your wake, your life is a constant chase; towards your next victim, away from your inevitable doom.
HuntRPG is a game of cat and mouse, or vampire and vampire. This solo journaling RPG has you chronicling your time as both an agent and a rogue while dealing with the intensities of both positions and the general hardships of being "immortal."
The Gift For many werewolves, lycanthropy is a gift. Something that is passed down through your family or to others you deem worthy or needy.
The Gift is a solo journaling RPG where you chronicle your experience of being bitten by a werewolf, the week leading up to the full moon, and your first time shifting.
This pledge level gives you the On Call, HuntRPG and The Gift PDFs.
