I listened and relistened and relistened to The Hum, a podcast by ONeillandFreeman. A lone man is sent to investigate an unexplained and possibly imaginary humming noise that torments a small village, and with every relisten I felt more determined to turn it into a comic book (my medium of choice).
How do you turn a debated sound into an image? You don't. You have the character chase something they can't fathom. Nothing.
Agent O'Neill is an "agent" sent from "the bureau" to investigate an impossibility — nothingness appearing within a small village. A void that seems to absorb all matter and even memories and history.
