How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

What is Backerkit and How Does Crownfunding Work?
Backerkit is a crowdfunding platform for creatives that allows artists and designers the opportunity to bring their projects to the next level through pledges made by backers. Backers pledge a certain amount of money to help raise enough funds for an artist to bring their projects to life. Backers, in return, can receive rewards exclusive to them, see behind the scenes moments, receive updates about the project they have provided pledges for, be a part of the creative experience by offering input, etc. If you’d like to become a backer, the first step is choosing a pledge level that has the reward or rewards you’d like to receive. Once the project is completed and enough funds have been raised, surveys are then sent out to the pledgers for them to select their reward(s), provide addresses, etc. Backerkit is an “all or nothing” crowdfunding mod, which means that each project creator sets up a funding goal and a deadline for a certain amount of funds to be raised. If the project does not meet the funding goal by the chosen deadline, then backers are not charged their pledges and no money is exchanged. Crowdfunding is very different than purchasing from a store. It takes a lot more time to build up the funds, utilize them to produce the products pledged for, and ship them out. When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your chosen method of payment will not be charged right after you make a pledge. You will only be charged for the total amount of your pledge once the project campaign ends and the crowdfunding goal has been met. If the campaign ends but it doesn’t meet its goal, you will not be charged for your pledge.
What happens once the project deadline ends?
Once the project deadline ends, and if enough funds were generated, a survey will be sent out to all the pledgers via their email. The survey will ask you information pertaining to your shipping address, additional items you’d like to add to your pledge, and will collect shipping fees (if applicable).
Once the project campaign ends, will I be able to cancel my order?
No, not typically. Items from crowdfunding campaigns are made to order and rely on the pledges to come to life. It will not be possible to cancel a pledge once it is made, so please keep this in mind.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes! But please not, all import fees are the responsibility of the backer. This include VAT taxes.
Why is shipping expensive?
Shipping is based on the weight of the items and the size of the box they are shipped in. Unfortunately, I do not control the shipping fees. They are regulated by the mail services utilized.
What are the plushie sizes?
Dragon Plushie Specs ✨40 cm ✨2 pounds each ✨3 different types of fabric (faux fur, minky, and iridescent stretchy). ✨Customized embroidery ✨Bendable, fidget wings ✨Safety and quality tested ✨Plushies that have yet to have a sample made will be around the same dimensions as the above. Product photos will be shown throughout the creation process and campaign.✨
What is the estimated shipping cost?
SHIPPING INFO TRACKING NUMBERS: You will be emailed a tracking number once your order is ready to be shipped. It will be to the email that you provided for your pledge. ADDITIONAL FEES: If you live outside of the U.S. then you are responsible for any additional fees that need to be paid, such as duties and/or taxes. I, nor Backerkit, collect these fees. DELIVERIES SENT TO WRONG ADDRESSES: I (Witch Way Familiars) am not responsible for any lost, stolen, or mis-delivered packages. So, please double check that your shipping info is correct when it is asked for in the survey’s that are sent out at the end of the campaign. SHIPPING TIMELINE: The shipping timeline is only an ESTIMATE. Shipping delays are possible and may occur during the production process. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: Once your payment has been processed, refunds and cancellations will not be accepted. Crowdfunding campaigns are not the same as ordering products from a shop. All items are made in bulk and therefore funds generated are immediately sent to my chosen manufacturer for production to begin (once the funds are deposited). If you do not fill out your survey within three months after the campaign ends, then your pledge will be considered a donation. PLEDGE POLICY: Once your pledge is collected after the campaign has ended, it will be believed that you have accepted the above terms/risks of providing your pledge to this campaign and understand its implications wholly after reading it. PLEASE NOTE: Shipping fees may be adjusted - these are simply estimates. Shipping won’t be charged until the bulk production of the plushies is finished and they are shipped out to me. You must pay shipping in order to have your reward (item/items) shipped. Please be sure to keep this in mind once it’s time for the shipping fees to be paid. Shipping prices are set by the mail carriers and depend on weight of items, and box sizes.
