Project Update: Shipping & Fulfillment Update (And Gen Con Pickup?!)

We're moving into the final phase of getting ArchRavels: Magic Socks into your hands and on your tables.
As you're aware, this project has encountered some unexpected delays in manufacturing and freight, and we’re incredibly grateful for your patience and continued support. Your backing has kept this project moving forward, and we’re almost there.
🚢 Where Things Stand with Shipping
The full shipment is expected to be loaded onto the boat within the next week. Once it departs, delivery is typically 60–90 days away, depending on freight transit time, customs clearance, and final fulfillment.

That means most backers should expect to receive their games sometime this fall.
Within a few weeks here we will be updating again with details regarding the shipping & Tariff/VAT costs depending on where you live.

With that in mind, once we have confirmation that our shipment is on the water, we will start the clock on updating addresses. Once that window closes, you can expect clarity on fulfillment costs shortly afterward.

Due to newly imposed U.S.–China tariffs, our shipping costs have increased significantly. To help offset this and keep XYZ Game Labs financially sustainable, we’ve made the difficult decision to bring limited inventory to sell at Gen Con. This includes ArchRavels: Magic Socks and the three theme packs.
We understand that selling at conventions before backer fulfillment isn’t ideal in crowdfunding—and we really didn’t want to be in that situation. But offering pickup for backers first is our way of honoring your support while also doing what we need to survive the current logistics climate.

What’s Available for Pickup:
- ArchRavels: Magic Socks
- Theme Packs: Cuddles, Cryptids, and Dinos
If your pledge includes other items—such as expansions or bundle exclusives—those will still be shipped to you later when they arrive.
What You’ll Need to Pick Up:
- Your Name used for the pledge
- Your email address used for the pledge
- Your Backer Number for the pledge
- A Photo ID
Pickup Fee:
There will be a $5 per-item fee to cover tariffs and handling (e.g., 1 Magic Socks Expansion + 3 theme packs = $20 total).

Project Update: June/July 2025 - Production Update
Assembly is complete! Goods are Ready.
ArchRavels: Magic Socks and all three Theme Packs have cleared production and assembly.
Next, we are waiting to receive word that Freight Shipping has begun.
What happens now:

Freight: 45-60 Days
- Goods are loaded & processed for Ocean Freight (We were hoping to have a confirmation of this before posting the update, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
- Once we have confirmation that Ocean Freight has started, we'll post an update and give everyone 2 weeks to update and/or change their address. (If you know your address needs to be updated, you can change it right now.)
- Once all addresses are locked, we'll be able to get the final Shipping Quotes & Tariff Costs sorted.
- We will post an update for everyone with clarity on those Shipping & Tariff Costs.
- We'll process shipping/tariff charges within 1-2 weeks of step 4. We will make those dates very clear when we post that update.
Fulfillment: 14-21 Days
- Goods Arrive & Clear Customs
- Goods are transferred to our US-based fulfillment partner.
- Tracking Numbers are generated and sent out
- Physical Shipments Begin
So, right now, as we write this, we expect to be about 60-90 days from you receiving ArchRavels: Magic Socks, Theme Packs, Deluxe Yarn Balls, Wooden Bowl 2-Packs, Playmats, and ArchRavels Base Game.
As previously mentioned ArchRavels: Award Season and ArchRavels: Rivals! will be coming later in the year.
We expect our next update to be later this month as the final steps of this process get underway.

Project Update: May 2025 - Production Update

We’re back with a full update on Magic Socks, the Theme Packs, and XYZ. There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes, and we’re here to share the latest on production, timelines, and what’s next.

Magic Socks & Theme Packs Are in Assembly!
We’re thrilled to share that the Magic Socks and the Theme Packs (including all deluxe components) are now printing and moving into assembly. It’s been a long road, but we’re almost there!
Right now, we’re expecting the games to be “goods ready” by the end of June, which means they’ll be packed up and ready to ship out from the manufacturer in China shortly after. We’ll update you again as we get closer to that key milestone.

Mini-Expansions: Rivals & Awards Season
We’re still committed to delivering Rivals & Awards Season, but production planning for these titles has proven more complex than expected. Right now, we’re actively exploring our options to mitigate tariff & import costs, which have become a significant challenge across the board.
We don’t yet have a firm timeline for their release, but we’re aiming for later this year. And yes — free shipping for those who pre-ordered them is still part of the plan. We’ll share more once we have clearer production options in place.

Titania Ascending
After evaluating the costs & risks, we’ve decided to place Titania Ascending on temporary hold while we rework our production approach. Unfortunately, the current 30% U.S. import tariff would significantly impact production costs — particularly for a small, non-retail print run like this one.
That said, since we’re already rethinking production pathways for the mini-expansions, there’s a real chance we’ll find a solution that benefits both projects. More to come once we’ve locked in our revised plans.

Rolling in Wonderland
We’ve officially stepped away from our involvement with Rolling in Wonderland. While we loved the creative direction of the project and appreciated our collaboration with Borogove Games, we’ve made the difficult decision to prioritize our current projects and commitments. We wish Borogove the best as they continue development on the game.
Shipping & Tariffs – The Elephant in the Room
At this time, we’re still finalizing shipping rates, but the current U.S. import tariff sits at 30%, which adds an estimated $5–$10 to the cost per order. Those estimated tariff charges will be added to the shipping charge. Once we know more about the final numbers, we will share them.
We truly wish we could absorb these costs or offer an alternative, but as a small indie team, that’s not feasible, especially in today’s freight and import climate. We’ll give you plenty of advance notice before any charges are processed.
We also want to acknowledge the reality: this project is very late, and we know that’s been frustrating. Your patience and support have meant everything. Like many small studios, we’re doing everything we can to survive in a tough environment, and delivering & selling Magic Socks is the critical path to keeping XYZ Game Labs going. We see you. Project Update: Production is Underway!
Hi All, I just wanted to pop in for a quick update. Production officially kicked off last week! This means a couple of things:
Orders Locked, Pre-Orders Closed.
We have already locked most of the orders, but the last batch of orders were just sent notice that they would be locked in 48 hours. In order to keep counts where they are, Pre-orders/late pledges are closed.
When Will Addresses Lock?
I will share more solid timelines when we have them from the manufacturer. Our preliminary timeline for "goods ready", which is when the production finishes, is in May. When production does finish, we will lock addresses. There will be more updates leading up to it so it's not a surprise, but as of now you have until May 16th, 2025 to update your address. We will of course let you know as that date approaches to warn you before addresses lock.
When will Shipping be Charged?
Shipping will be charged shortly after addresses are locked on May 16th. Recent current events have made shipping and importing volatile. We are getting updated shipping quotes and don't panic, you will have ample warning of shipping costs before they are charged. Those details will come in the May Update.
Next Update?
Now that the production is underway, the next thing to do is...continue to wait. Our next milestone is in the middle to end of may when production completes so we will make sure to update around that time. In the mean time, we have a bunch of things that we will be working on in the background, mostly the mini-expansions.

I have given these guys hell (rightfully so) with the delays. I was fortunate to be attending Gen Con and able to pick up my items (all but the 2 they told us they did not have and will ship later). The pick up process was smooth and if you were impressed with the original game component quality, you won't be let down with the new expansions. Took entirely too long, but they are very nice! I believe in giving credit as much as giving hell so.... well done on the quality, XYZ.
