(BIG UPDATE) All designs & line-up is now finalized!
Hi everyone,
Just another update and this will probably be my last update for a while until my manufacturer gets back from their holiday break in early February. I wanted...
My apologies for the delay as I was supposed to update early this week, it's been very busy preparing for everything and finalizing all of the blueprints and drafts for multiple of my projects so it's been a bit chaotic.
I wanted to reach out to touch base with everyone with with where we're at.
First I wanted to go with the survey - the survey is what happens after the campaign is completed and it's where you answer some questions about your address and which pins you'd like, as well as go through the add-on section where you can add on more pins or items to your order. I've noticed some issues with my survey and have been going back and forth with Backerkit's team to help resolve the issues so that it's not confusing and runs as smoothly as possible for everyone! I'm still resolving everything and will send it out as soon as possible. I appreciate the patience from everyone! :D
I've also sent emails to anyone with failed payments. There's very few of you with failed payments, so please keep in mind that you will have until Feb 27 to fix this! I've sent an email with instructions and a walkthrough of how to fix your payment in the case that you are one of the few with failed payments. Please try to fix them as soon as possible!
Finally...
The espeon/umbreon design is finalized! We have a cute pairing of the two eeveelutions in one single pin. It will be 1.6 inches large (approximately 1.6 x 1.6 inch). it will be at a discounted price of $17, unlocks at 20 purchases! I went through so many variations and drafts of this pin to finally get it to a point where I like it. :-) These will be available through the add-on section when the survey is sent out later! Keep in mind as a reminder that it is not a selectable item through your standard Mochimon pin, you'll have to add on this one in the add-on's separately. It will also be in the pre-order store the same time as the survey is launched if anyone is interested in picking it up but wasn't a backer!
You will not be charged unless 20 people also check-out with the item, so when the survey comes out please go ahead and add it to your cart and check-out. The charge will go through when 20 people check out with it. If it doesn't meet the funding goals then you will not be charged for it!
I will continue to work on the survey and will get it out as soon as possible, thank you everyone!
One last Mochimon to show. This is one pin with both Umbreon and Espeon.
THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. It is not the final design as I still need to continue working on it.
This pin design is NOT included in the baseline pledge so you cannot choose this design for your Mochimon pin.
Only the 15 designs unlocked are able to be chosen. Please read the following below to better understand how to unlock / add this pin to your pledge:
Upon checking out and paying for your pledge, there will be an option to unlock a design afterwards to add to your pledge. The way it works is that X amount of people must add the pin to their cart in order for it to be unlocked. This helps me secure funding for this last Mochimon pin and also expresses interest to me to make this pin fund. If the pin does not secure funding then you will not be charged for this design.
I hope to finalize the design as soon as possible, the design will be revealed and announced when the surveys go out next week. Yes they look a little wonky right now as I tinker with their designs. I just wanted to show the concept and let you know to be on the look-out for one last Mochimon pin during the survey next week.
This is the final stretch and final day to finalize your pledges -
but if you're hesitating on whether you should pledge or not, I have some additional information to hopefully provide you with an informed decision -
Prices for this campaign are confirmed to be the lowest. I've gone through and worked through a quote with my manufacturer. Due to the increase of tariffs and exclusivity of Backerkit, all of my products will be increased.
Some pins were always meant to be a higher price than the $14-15 advertised price. Such as the Lugias, Dragonite, and Milotic, that are a bit on the longer side.
Mochimon stickers are not purchaseable through an online store. These will be made and manufactured to order. Any left-overs will be sold in-person at conventions and once they are sold out they will not be made again.
Some items are determined to be limited to this campaign. Some items once sold out, I have no interest in re-stocking. They may be made with lower quantity as well.
I have closed-mouth Jirachi as a campaign-only item as I felt that I wanted to give my backers the opportunity to go with a closed-mouth option since that was what I started with, but I do not intend on stocking more closed-mouth Jirachi once that variant sells out.
Some designs may also be manufactured in less quantity, I don't know if I want to stock them in the long-term. If any items sell poorly, I will not choose to restock them after they sell out after the campaign. By pledging and purchasing during this campaign you are securing the design you're interested in for sure as well for a discounted price and earlier than everyone.
I don't know if I'll stock BOTH variants of Mew. If one of them ends of selling significantly better than the other, I may choose to discontinue the other variant to simplify my stock.
These pins are mixed grade but I reserve the best for my backers.
Due to the nature of how enamel pins are manufactured, I tend to ship out Mochimon pins at a mixed grade. The only time that any Mochimon pins are withdrawn from selling is if there's a very drastic defect. I reserve all of the best quality for my backers. By backing, you are guaranteeing yourself an A-grade enamel pin. Left-overs will be mixed grade.
Reminder that these are the designs, please take a look and adjust your pledges accordingly!
Time-Line
I have already started discussions with my manufacturer and we're starting to work on the project, but this is the most accurate time-line that I have to offer right now. For this project I am working with my favorite manufacturer that I trust the most to bring you the best quality that I can bring. We're going to work on samples as well and I've even treated myself to a nifty pantone book before the campaign ends so that I can get the colors as close as possible to what I'm looking for!! I'm so excited!
Again here is the rough time-line, I will continue to monitor it accordingly. Please be aware that due to our political climate and policy changes that affect the states, this may vary. I will be in communication with everyone if there are any changes.
February 13: End of campaign
I am away out of town until Feb 17 - please email me at Yuuxine@gmail.com for any questions/concerns, I will likely be able to respond if I am online but this will just be a head's up if you don't hear from me right away.
February 18~21: Around this time surveys will be sent out. Begins proofing and sampling process for any designs. Surveys will be sent and collected - these surveys will ask you which items you would like, if you'd like to add anything on, and requests for payment. Please finalize these as soon as possible so that I can get an accurate total count for which pins you'd like! Late April ~ Late May: Samples are finished Early June: Mass production for all unlocked designs begins Late July: Mass production is finished and the journey from the manufacturer to my door starts. Late August: All items are received and I begin to process packages and shipping
This is the home-stretch and I'm so excited. Thank you all for your support!
I'm really sorry to send so many updates - this was a statement I made earlier that I wanted more people to be able to see. So I'm writing an update to mass send and announce one last change.
I'm really sorry that I continue to make changes this far into the project, it was a difficult decision but it was a decision I had to make in regards to it. I know that each time I make changes, it's isolating the people who are backing my projects. I just also wanted to take this time to let you and the others know that I *know* and I *see* this feedback, I know that it's going to upset people. But I feel that being transparent and keeping my backers updated on where I am with this project is more important to me than anything.
It's never something that I want to do to continue to change things as I've always wanted to go into a project with finalized designs. My first enamel pin project of the Persona 5 kickstarter was completely finalized and had no changes during the process because Persona (and especially anime characters) ARE my comfort zone and where I have already developed my style and process for years and years - Pokemon is really, really not. This is something I'm walking completely new into.
I have to consider a lot of new processes and workflow that I should have considered before this project and thus this is by far the most amount of changes that I've had to make during any project, I was ill-prepared and I'm sorry for continuing to make these changes. Please know that I have my own reasons for changing them and while I'm very sorry for these continuous changes, it was a necessary step for me to make things more original and unique for my artistic journey.
I've heard the feedback and I'm making one final change to the Mew. I know that many of you loved Mew holding a heart, but I didn't want to go in that direction. So I did the best compromise and added an additional pop of color in the design. At this point forward I feel that I have done my very best to make the designs that I feel are faithful to something unique that I can offer while making a compromise from others. Unfortunately to meet with my timeline, I will not be making any changes from here on.
I understand if these constant changes are confusing and frustrating. I'm sorry to disappoint people and to continue changing these designs. I wasn't prepared enough for such a large Pokemon project, especially a dyed soft enamel pin project, I didn't consider enough about the people and communities around me and my project.
The only thing I can do at this time is take it as a learning experience this time around, communicate these changes as they happen, and learn and be better prepared for future projects.
Thank you for your support during my journey! ദ്ദി •⩊• ) I will continue to work hard to deliver the very best product I can offer.
We are around one full week to go and I have something exciting and important to share with you. CHANGES TO DESIGNS
Constantly we as artists draw and draw, and draw. We consume art, we push out art. It repeats and is a constant cycle created out of love and passion. The best artists will continue to find inspiration in the world that we live in but also push out inspiration towards others in our unique ways. Pokemon is a very much new fandom for me to be a part of as I'm commonly more indulgent in cute anime girls and fat cats who eat lasagna.
I loved Pokemon for ages but am coming in for the first time as a creator and hence I struggled a lot with coming to terms with finding myself and my own style (hence why my art and designs are constantly changing while I work within these processes). All of this is constantly evolving (like Pokemon do) as I push these boundaries myself. Additionally, enamel pins are also a bit of a new realm for me as this is my second project but first largest set of dyed soft-enamel pins, so I'm constantly trying to go back to the drawing board to see what would work in my own way and in my own style.
I apologize for the constant changes, I want this project to go well, but I also want this project to be something that I feel the best about and something that is faithful to what my own individual creative processes are.
I hold so much love for those artists who have made my favorite pieces of artwork and driven me to continue to create, and I only want to produce art in my own way that would spark the same amount of love in hopes that one day giving my best would also instill the same feeling of inspiration to others. Thus, I have to revise, revise, revise. I have to talk to people, I have to listen to people outside of different communities. I need to immerse myself in new territories and own tools and play with them until I find something new. In only that way can I be OK and proud of the designs that I am creating.
Hence, I have chosen to change three of my designs to have more individuality and creative freedom that I felt wasn't reflected in my original designs for selected Pokemon. I've done multiple sketches over and over again to try to conjure up something that I felt was my own unique individual take on something that hasn't been done before. I'm always open to feedback, I'm always wanting to grow and learn. All of these lead to changes, which as an artist and person, is always a good thing.
Milotic, Gardevoir, and Mew were all changed during this revision process. I'm presenting to you new designs. I know that in a previous update I had stated that no designs would be changed, and I'm sorry but I feel that these updates are pivotal for me as an artist to push out a product that is more accurate to my independent journey as an artist and more unique to what I'm able to offer! As always, I'm receptive to feedback to grow and learn, so if you have any comments that you'd like to share, please always feel free to reach out to me. I am always receptive to feedback, especially when I'm growing and changing. A big thank you to everyone who has been very patient and understanding towards me while I'm figuring this out.
If you have previously pledged for Milotic, Gardevoir and Mew and you are unhappy with these changes, please change your pledges accordingly!
During the last week of the campaign, please take a look at the final roster and make your decisions to choose which Pokemon you'd like in your journey!
ALTERNATIVE DESIGN CHOICES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR MEW AND JIRACHI
Additionally - I am now offering two alternatives for the Jirachi and Mew designs.
When you are sent a survey at the end of the campaign to choose your enamel pins and you were pledging for either Mew or Jirachi, you will be given the option to select one of the two variants of the designs:
Closed eyes laughing Mew
Open eyes Mew
Closed mouth Jirachi
Open mouth Jirachi
Both have slight variations and allow you to choose to have a different feeling with the enamel pin of your choice!
NEW PLEDGE TIER
I have added a new Pledge Tier (for the ALL-IN to get all of the Mochimon items from this campaign) if you would like all 15 designs. You can mix and match however you'd like however, so if you want 10 Jirachi's, the sky is yours! This will come with a discount of $5 BUT ALSO come with the full set of Mochimon stickers.
Just a reminder that if you haven't changed your pledge in some time, the amount of pins has changed. There are now 15 total and with two variants, there's 17. The all-in champion tier only includes enough for you to choose one of each design (and one of the variants per design). So please be sure to double-check your pledges before the campaign is over!
THANK YOU
Thank you for all of you for your patience and support. I promise you that I love to hear from everyone. If anyone has any comments, suggestions, feedback, I am always OK with receiving it. Please feel free to reach out to me through email yuuxine@gmail.com, DMs or even as a comment here. I welcome all feedback and always want to provide you with the best that I can do.
