Glenn is a type historian, letterpress printer, graphic designer, technology journalist, and book author. He started his working life typesetting his high-school newspaper, transitioned into design and production, and then became a journalist. He’s written for the Economist, the New York Times, Wired, Fast Company, Macworld, and many others. Over the last several years, Glenn made a historical turn, becoming deeply enmeshed in researching how newspapers and comics were printed in the 19th and 20th centuries, collecting fascinating production materials along the way. In 2022–23, Glenn had a video explaining comics production in the “Man Saves Newspaper Comics!” exhibition at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum at the Ohio State University. He has contributed a chapter on printing plates to an upcoming Oxford University Press book.
