A beleaguered grad student by day, I write dark fantasy/horror stories and blog on Sad but Building Worlds on my own time. I have a soft spot for ancient history and weird archaeology, and I strongly that characters in premodern fantasy settings should think like premodern people, actually, not just cosplay in armor while talking like they're in the 21st century. I'm also a semi-frequent fiction reviewer, a less-frequent film reviewer, a coffee and tea aficionado, and a keeper of two cats who are a tad too clever for the good of all parties.
