Nikos Theodorakis is a 45-year-old Greek writer and English literature professor based in Thessaloniki. A father of two, he spent over a decade living in the United States, where he pursued postgraduate studies and later worked in academia. His years in Boston, Massachusetts, a city rich with literary history and home to many prestigious universities, deeply shaped his relationship with literature and storytelling.
Initially drawn to the U.S. to complete his PhD in Comparative Literature at Boston University, Nikos remained there to teach and immerse himself in a vibrant community of writers, scholars, and thinkers. But Greece was always home — and after ten years, he returned with a renewed vision: to share his love for English literature with Greek students and finally pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an author.
Now teaching at Aristotle University, he balances academic life with his writing. His work often explores themes of identity, cultural memory, and the emotional landscapes of exile and return — drawing from both his personal journey and the literary worlds he inhabits.
