Canterbury Bells is a burgeoning Folk Rock outfit, comprised of compulsive songwriters. Sean Ashkenson, Ezra Teshome, and Liam McKay all participate in the creative process, blending classic folk sensibility with modern perspectives and methods. While typically drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature, their latest focus has been on creating the modern "castle" through community, and how they can hope to venture forth to protect it. They mostly perform originals, but sometimes sneak in a cover or two. They think of themselves as a blend of their influences - Fleet Foxes, Simon and Garfunkel, Madison Cunningham, Punch Brothers, and Pinegrove, to name just a few.
