Project Update: June Progress Report

Greetings, Castle Whiterockians!

It’s been a moment since we last checked-in with you all, but that doesn’t mean things haven’t been busy behind the scenes. We are solidly in the editing stage for the four core books that make up each version of the Castle Whiterock boxed set. Conversions are still underway, but mostly on the ancillary material from previous Organized Play adventures, Free RPG Day releases, and so forth, meaning this is a much shorter and simpler task than getting the massive contents of the main boxed set books into shape.

While the writers and editors are getting things wrapped up, the artists are hard at work bringing the maps and interior art to life. We hope to be able to show off some of those shortly.

And since I know people are going to ask, we’re in talks with printers about the Big Ass GM's Screen and what it would take to do the clear inserts the majority of folks have expressed interest in. Fingers crossed we’ll have more concrete details in the near future.

The Book of Funnels Coming Next Month

Project Update: Thank You

Shortly after midnight this morning, Mega Dungeon Month and the Castle Whiterock Backerkit campaign finally came to an end. After three days of Overtime Mode, the gates to the castle swung shut, but not before achieving the penultimate stretch goal of Mike’s Big Ass GM’s Screen. Congratulations and a sincere thank you to all our backers for making this crowdfunding campaign a stellar success. Not only did we fund Castle Whiterock, but also more than a dozen other Castle Whiterock-themed game releases achieved their goals. As I’ve said before, we couldn’t do it without your faith in us.

Things are going to be a little quiet for awhile around these parts as we recover from Dungeon Con 2 and focus on getting the Castle Whiterock sets and their associated stretch goals and add-ons finalized. But we will keep you updated regularly with their progress.

I can, however, reveal that Joseph Goodman is talking with the printer about the possibility of including clear packets for the BAGS, which so many of you requested. If that proves feasible, it will make the BAGS completely customizable, allowing you to use whatever tables and charts you might need for your game system of choice. We’ll update you with more once we have an answer.

Until then, let me extend the thanks of the entire Goodman Games gang for making Castle Whiterock our third most successful crowdfunding campaign even and for your ongoing trust and fanaticism when it comes to making great gaming products for your home tables. We often say our fans are the best simply because you prove it again and again. Castle Whiterock was no exception.

Project Update: Unlocked! New Stretch Goals Added!

Like true warriors, you have overcome every achievement—leaving all obstacles crushed under your iron boots!

So, we added some new stretch goals. Here is the line up:

  • The "Devious Door Randomizer" added to each book.
  • The "Quick Start" dungeon added to each book.
  • Dunn's Torch: an app we will develop (free to each backer) to track torches, lanterns and magic light at the table. Featuring an animated Dunn the Dwarf, so you feel safe and secure as you delve!
  • The posters (early bird, reservation, and add-on editions) all oversized for added epic gameplay.
  • The "Build a Boss" section added to each book. Craft your epic dungeon boss with this killer tool!

Project Update: Quick update.

Status:

  • All art & 90% of the design is complete!

  • We are now in proofing and final editing for most materials.

What is next: We will get everything ready for printing and lock up shipping estimates by end of summer/early fall. This keeps is on track if not a little ahead, but with summer activity, trips, and visits upcoming we will be off the grid for a little while.

Project Update: Juneberry Jam Three Days Too Late!

I just learned that we have an indigenous berry in Chicago called the "serviceberry." They look like blueberries and are also called "juneberries" because they fruit in June, making them June fruiters (which is really fun to say). The blooming of Serviceberries is one of the earliest signs of spring, foretelling the arrival of the itinerant preachers who would soon arrive to perform services for all of the people who died during the winter, hence the name. Fun!  All of this is to say that I've had way too much coffee today and have lost control of the same part of my brain as Estelle Getty's Golden Girl.

June update

So the campaign ended a little over a month ago, and I have done nearly zip. Well, not really, I have ordered and received the bumper stickers, sticker sheets, and "Child of Bobugbubilz" patches! It was really surreal placing an order for nearly $2,000 worth of stickers.

Playtesting

I need to do a ton more playtesting of Mutant Spawn. I'll send out an email/Backerkit update shortly about in-person and online opportunities to participate.

Ok, now that you're all softened up. I have a new campaign launching in August. It is part three in the Saga of Sorcerer Verrükter and the Rükstau Rejects: The Sorcerer's Conundrum. It's a level-2 adventure compatible with Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG that puts the players into a labyrinth filled with everyone's favorite TTRPG pillar: puzzles!

Project Update: Okay now the digital files should be available

Apparently link a digitial file to a reward and telling Backerkit ... hey everyone getting this reward should get this file was not enough.

After that you have to click a button that says "distribute files to backers" 
and then
You need to click a diffeerent button to email everyone the information on how to get the files.

Sorry everyone ... I am learning as I go here as these seem like unneccessary steps ... but they are done now so you should have access to the files from an email sent out with information.

IF you are a pay over time backer ... sorry ... Backerkit will not send you the files until the final payment is made.

Also the part of Backerkit that you put the digital files into said I could use STL files ... but now I just found out that STL files will load BUT THEN NEVER ATTACH TO YOUR PROJECT (they just go into electronic limbo).   
So with that new information if you reward is getting STL files ... I zipped the files and that format did load and also attached to the project so you can get them now.

I am on annual vacation for my wife to visit her aging father  ... so doing my best to stay up to make sure I fix anything as fast as possible around being away from my current home base.
