This is just a quick update to let folks know how the project is going. This is my first time solo dev on something this size, and I'm learning a lot as I go. One thing I'm learning is that art direction is very hard 😅
But things are moving forward, and I am super excited about the art that I've commissioned so far! I know that Bring Down the Stars is going to be beautiful when it's done.
I'm also writing a few new segments based on some of the feedback I've gotten so far - specifically, working on guidance for players and GMs to understand when and how to use various moves, expand on the setting, and create more exciting scenarios. I'll also be sharing that text here as it's finished.
Not much to add here, just acknowledging the successful end of the campaign and saying one more thank you! If you missed the Transplaner sponsored stream, you can still see the VOD on Twitch.
The next update will have more info about the artists joining the project.
We've reached our funding goal! Thank you so much everyone for your support. I cannot wait to share this game with you. With just a few days left, I am hopeful that we can still reach our first stretch goal before the campaign ends.
So, what's next?
On Monday, Transplanar RPG will be hosting our second sponsored stream. If you missed the first stream or are just excited to see another take on the game, then be sure to tune in at 8 PM ET on Twitch.tv/Transplanar
A promotional graphic for a sponsored one-shot of Bring Down The Stars on Transplanar RPG. The graphic features two headshots of Josephine Kim and Sea Thomas against a navy and purple starry background. A yellow banner at the top of the graphic reads, "Ending Soon - Backerkit." Above the headshots, white text reads, "@/scarydogfriend as The Game Master. @/seaplaysrpg as The Reader." On the right hand side, the Transplanar logo sits over white text that reads, "BRING DOWN THE STARS. Everything changed the day the STARS appeared. The Stars WILL fall." At the bottom of the graphic, text in yellow reads: "Monday, March 9 @ 8PM ET. twitch.tv/TransplanarRPG."
I've also been talking to a number of talented artists who I am so excited to feature in the final game, who you'll be hearing even more about next week. But if you want to see EVEN MORE amazing art, then be sure to help us reach that first stretch goal!
Thank you so much everyone. I am overjoyed to see how excited everyone is to play Bring Down the Stars.
With two weeks left in the campaign, we have surpassed 75% of our goal! I'm so grateful to everyone who has contributed so far, and especially to everyone who has paid it forward with the community copy add-ons! There's currently an achievement goal to hit 50 community copies to help get the game into as many hands as possible. As someone who has been through my fair share of economic hardship, it's important to me that we make our games accessible to everyone we can, regardless of income.
I am confident that we will meet our goals, so please continue to share the campaign with your friends, post it in discord, and aim for some stretch goals! I'll be sharing more updates as they come and I've got something very exciting around the corner for y'all.
If you would like to see how the game is played, the VOD of the first streamed game is now available on youtube. Thank you again to Stella (@stellaluna.tv) and Cai (@estelofimidras) for putting on a fantastic showcase.
