A woman wakes up on a strange shore, carrying nothing but an old phone and a children’s storybook…
Meanwhile, a thousand years in the past, a child gets plucked from obscurity to become a knight in the royal guard, where he promptly falls in love with the princess…
What do these stories have in common? Who are the other characters, and why does everyone suddenly have magical powers? Why does the sun never set? Is “Snow” even the woman’s real name? And more importantly; is there still a way to get back home?
A story spanning generations, told between interweaving timelines... yet at the end of the day, isn't it all under the Same Sky?

After the first season of the webcomic The Same Sky has ended, this crowdfunding campaign is for the creation- and printing of the entire first season as a graphic novel!
Although the entire story is (and will remain) freely available online, that doesn't mean that there aren't certain advantages you can only get from a physical copy:

The plan is to print the physical version of the comic as an A5-sized, softcover, full-colour print run of 50 books. I expect the book to have inbetween 240 and 300 pages. Ideally there'll be reprints later, but for now; this will be it. If the campaign happens to reach its goal quickly, stretch goals include a larger print run, as well as a possible hardcover edition. Any leftover books will be available in my store, where they'll cost €25,-; in other words, invest now and get a 10% discount!

The current version of the comic is mobile first. This means that all chapters are essentially one really long vertical file, and so, for a physical release, this means that restructuring is necessary. However, I have created the chapters with this future reformatting in mind, so all drawings can be moved and resized as needed. This does not mean that it will be a quick process though; I expect this to take a couple of months, especially as there'll always be unexpected edits.
All backers will be kept up-to-date on the editing process, proofs and additional materials.

The costs of shipping are highly dependent on both distance and weight of the package. This means that if you order more books, the shipping costs will increase, but if you (for instance) only order stickers, they will decrease.

Let me introduce myself; my (artist-)name is YinUkume and I am an independent artist from the Netherlands. I've always been interested in drawing as well as storytelling, and I've been working as an illustrator and 2D game artist for a while now. You can find (and follow) me on both Instagram and BlueSky.
Almost 15 years ago now, I had an idea for a comic series; The Same Sky. I've been workshopping this idea for all this time (and let's be honest, almost every part of the story has changed since then), and 18 months ago I finally decided to go for it. I've been working on this comic as a (more than) full-time job ever since. And now, the first (of two) seasons is actually finished!
It has been my lifelong dream to have one of my stories actually published as a "real", physical book. Hopefully, this campaign will be the necessary stepping stone to help bring The Same Sky to a whole new audience!

Of course, the main goal of the campaign is to gain the necessary funds to print the 50 books. However, if we do happen to gain more funds, there are still additional goals. First and foremost, after we reach €2000, we can order a much larger print run. If eventually we would happen to reach the €4500, it becomes possible to print a hardcover option of the graphic novel.
