How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.
Project FAQ
Will the demon croquis picture be included?
Yes! It will be at the back of the book. For physical copies, it will be on a separate page as well. I will also be supplying a link to the image for free so you can print it out yourself if you want. If we hit the stretch goals for the other new demonic croquis images, I'll also be sharing those out for free.
How much safety is involved in the game?
I wrote in calibration/safety tools for solo play, as well as a debrief. Since this is a horror game, there will be topics that may require self-calibration. There are also topics that may be difficult for some folks to play with, so there is a lengthy list of content warnings in the beginning to determine whether or not this game is for you!
Is this game replayable?
The game uses choose-your-own-path mechanics so it is possible to replay, however you will need to print off an additional demon picture in order for you to replay it. I have my own opinions about replayability in games, which I will not put here.
Will the demon picture be available online?
Yes, there will be a digital version of the demon picture so you can download it and print it off whenever you want to play again!
Do all of the pledge levels come with the digital version of the game?
Yes! The digital version will be available for all tiers. All tiers will also receive any of the digital stretch goals that we hit.
Are all the stretch goals digital?
No, some of them will be physical. Any physical stretch goals will only be available to folks who pledge at the physical levels (Influencer, Maven, Visionary, House of Fashion, Icon).
Which tier levels are available to me?
Currently, Thrift Shop and Fashionista are available worldwide. Influencer, Maven, Visionary and Icon are available in the US and Canada. House of Fashion is only available in the US.
For the Icon tier, what kinds of fabric will you be using?
Banana's choice. You have to live with it.
If I create the demonic dress, will I be cursed in real life?
I get this every time and every time, I cannot guarantee that you will not be cursed. I also cannot guarantee that you will be cursed.
What is the refund policy for this game?
We only offer full refunds for folks who have accidentally backed at a physical pledge level who are located outside of the US or Canada.
