We just wanted to give you all an update on where things are right now. So far...
The manuscript: IS DONE!
The editing: IS DONE!
The interior chapter header graphics and front cover: IS DONE!
The layout: IS DONE! (Thanks Jon!) - This means the digital version is finished and ready to be shared as soon as we set up the BackerKit (which...is in progress - we're hitting a couple of tech issues, but we are currently handling them)
Manufacturing and printing: The printer version of the doc has been sent to our printing partner and we are currently in their work queue. Once we have the digital proofs and physical proofs signed off from Whatz Games, we'll be getting the full print run sent to us.
Shipping: Obviously, we need the games in our hands first, so this will be our final stage.
Other pledge level items: Forgery already exists, so we'll be shipping that out with Knockoff as soon as it's ready.
Here's a quick preview of the digital version:
Chapter from The Estate Sale
In the meantime, as we struggle with understanding how technology works, if you're in the Seattle area, I'll be going to Friday Afternoon Tea to do an immersive reading for the prequel, Forgery in August! There will be free small charms and printed demons given away during the event and we'll be supplying coloring pencils and pens for your demon as I read.
Friday Afternoon Tea: 4228 Stone Way N, Seattle, WA 98103 Date: Saturday August 9, 1pm-3pm
Banana will be at Friday Afternoon Tea
Thanks for your support and excited to get Knockoff out to you all!
We did it! Knockoff is funded at 116%! Thank you so much for getting us funded and for all of your support. It truly means the world to me.
Next Steps
We will keep you all updated as pledges are collected this week and we're in full production mode to get Knockoff to you as quick as possible. If you have any questions, you can send us a message through BackerKit or you can send a message to our Instagram.
But our progress so far is:
Graphic design for the PDF is almost done!
The PDF will be sent out to our printers in the next 3-4 weeks once we have it finalized for printing
We'll be sharing pictures of the proofs as we receive them from the printer
Sample
In the meantime, here's a little teaser for the third book in the trilogy, Sample. When things are closer to wrapping up with Knockoff, we'll be returning with the final book soon.
100% We've Funded Knockoff
Thanks to you, we've made it to 100%!
Now...for our stretch goals.
As you've probably already seen, we have a few stretch goals planned, including a new croquis that folks can download and a free silver charm that we'll be adding with each physical pledge level.
We're hoping that we'll be able to hit some stretch goals before we finish funding!
In the meantime...
Jon has been working hard on getting the layout ready and I'm so excited to share with you his progress as soon as he's ready!
Thank you again and I'm so grateful to all of you for getting this game to its funding goal!
We are so close to getting funded and that means we can talk about what some of our stretch goals are!
At $9,500, we will be giving away a new free PDF of another demon croquis (different from the one that you see on the main page). That means that you will choose which model you want to use for your story so you can change up the pose.
At $11,000, we are giving away a free tiny silver charm with every physical pledge level.
Thanks again for the support and I'm so excited for us to fund!
Thank you so much for all of your support! I'm so excited that you are all excited for this weird little game.
If you're interested in how the game plays out, check out this actual play that we did over on Tender Vicious' YouTube, with Austin Taylor and Jonaya Kemper, who also worked with me to consult and edit the book!
Now...About those journals...
We heard folks were excited for the custom Knockoff journals so we added them on as an add-on!
In the story, Marcos finds a journal at an estate sale that has yellow paint smeared on the front, so I'll be smearing yellow paint on every journal that we sell during the campaign!
(This is just a quick photoshop job that I did so it will probably not look like this in the final version, since all the paint smears will look different based on how I paint them!)
Thanks again for the support and we're excited to get Knockoff funded, so share this campaign to anyone who you think might be interested in a solo body horror journaling game!
