Evil dwarfs cast in heavy metal: bogwyrm miniatures has teamed up with PrincipeNero to bring his work to the casting room! Extensions of the legendary Fabelzel line with a multi-part surprise (it's the hats!)
In 2021 Fabelzel's Dark Dwarfs hit the tabletop world and quickly became the most popular big-hatted dwarfs available. Now his armies now grace tables worldwide, from the most humble basement to the highest levels of play.
But they've never been available like this before. Today, for the first time, they're coming to you in metal - and not just his!
It's true that many have iterated on his work but the most ambitious, and certainly the most skilled, was Principe Nero. His additions to the Fabelzel range addressed the primary complaint of the original work - there simply weren't enough of them! Nero's work has over doubled the number of unique sculpts available adding not just unique poses and hats but also artillery crew, weapon options, and even a daemonic train. Today his work stands side-by-side with Fabelzel's in these sets - whether filling out existing ranks or comprising their own units taking on new roles on the battlefield.
But wait, they're multipart?
You got it. But never fear, these wont involve any painful pinning. We've separated the hats allowing you to mix and match for even more variety! All standard infantry models (not officers or heroes) will have a their hats fully interchangeable.
But wait, these pictures are resin - aren't the models in metal?
The photos here are prints of the 3d sculpts done by Fabelzel and Nero and will all be mastered, molded, and cast in metal. If that sounds expensive - it is! We've funded a complete set of masters as a proof of concept already, but this round of crowdfunding is necessary for us to bring the rest of this range to life!
First and foremost are the legendary characters. A Sorcerer and a Grandmaster. One to lead with wit and the other with brawn.

The Hats
No dwarf will arrive in hatless shame - every hatless body comes with a random hat. We'll be running a minimum of 10 different hats so there will be plenty of variety! Extra hats are also available via add-on.

Resin shields will be included with axe dwarfs, close combat officers, and combat characters. These are the only part of this campaign that will be delivered in resin. Here's the full spread!
The Lone Hero Tier A single, iconic piece for your forces. Though the rest may shatter and waste away, a leader must last forever. Under the Character Tier you may select from one of the twothree (stretch goal unlocked!) characters available - the Sorcerer, the Grandmaster, and the Vizier. Or add a second Character in the Add-Ons and get both!
The Officer Corps Tier Crown existing units and give the front rank all the attention it deserves with a full metal officer section. Two options are available, close combat and ranged, to let each unit type stand out!
The Regiment Tier Steel the backbone of your army with a full unit of ten metal dwarfs. Three options available - get up close and personal with axes, wither your opponent at range with blunderbusses, or a bit of both with fireblades! You can also add a discounted officer section or fill their ranks out even further in the Add-Ons!
The Army Tier You're a die-hard believer in the One True Casting. A smattering of metal would never do for your forces, you require every piece to shine like the very metals so coveted in your dwarfs' dark hearts. The Army Tier gives you one character, one command section, and three troop sections from the above for a full 34 models at the most steeply discounted rate. Each can be selected from the options outlined above, meaning you can get your troop sections in anything from 1 set of each weapon type to all 3 sets as a single super-unit! And yes, you can include Add-Ons here too for everything from more characters all the way to a whole second Army for the truly me(n)tal.
The Early Bird Vizier Army Tier Available for the first 48 hours only! This mirrors the Army Tier above except that instead of a standard character choice you will instead receive a special dwarven Vizier with a brutal two-handed axe. This is not available under any other tier and not sold separately!
Note that your choice of characters, officers, and troops will be chosen after the campaign ends in the Pledge Manager.
You're getting it all and you know it, but you want something really unique to give your brazen throng a real polish.
For the first 48 hours of this campaign only we have the Limited Vizier Army Tier. This contains the same number of models as the standard Army Tier (one character, one officer section, and three infantry regiments), however instead of the standard character selection you will receive this absolute brute. And don't worry, if you want the other characters too you can always include them in the add-ons!
With the stretch goal hit this model will be available in the Pledge Manager as the Vizier as a 3rd Hero option! He will be available in both The Lone Hero or The Army tiers, or their equivalent add-ons.
--- We're pretty much all or nothing with this campaign. You want an evil dwarf on foot, it's happening or it's not! But you know what, if we blow this thing out of the water, we'll celebrate. One additional version of a two-handed-hammer-wielding-stunty will be made available for the masses at $6500! He'll be available in any tier or add-on that allows for a character selection!
We're working hard to get the best possible shipping rates for you, both domestic and international, and in most cases have secured prices well below retail. The nature of our product (it's weight varying greatly based on pledge level and add-ons), the pricing updates that often take place at the beginning of the year, and general market uncertainty means we are unable to give exact prices, but can provide the following range estimates for 0-2 lbs (large orders willexceed this weight).
US: $8-16
Canada: $15-20
Rest of the world: $16-25
Orders up to 4 pounds, with the exception of US domestic, are up to double this. Orders over 4 pounds become too variable to give any specific guidance but are quite expensive.
We estimate our Army Tier to be close to 2 pounds on it's own. Please keep this in mind so there are no surprises come shipping!

Shipping fees will be collected post-campaign at shipping time. Any duties, taxes (including non-UK VAT), or other fees are the backers responsibility due at import.
A note on the United Kingdom
We are extremely happy to have secured a local distributor for the orders within the United Kingdom for this campaign's distribution only! This will allow us to decrease shipping costs there by splitting the bulk of the costs across all UK buyers. This method is even more variable in cost than others, however it will cut costs off the Rest Of The World rates above and will absolutely be the cheapest opportunity to purchase from us! Because of this, however, UK buyers will pay their VAT taxes up front instead of at time of import.
The learned will have noticed this is not the full force as envisioned by Fabelzel and Principe Nero. Still missing are their client races, great machines of war, destructive and wonderful monsters, and more. These, too, will come in time, allowing you to eventually field your whole army in nothing but beautiful, spin-cast metal. Stay tuned for future campaigns!
