This campaign has blown us away. We didn't plan any additional stretch goals this time but we're not going to let the these final hours go by without a celebration - so we're adding two more sculpts to our gun lines!
That means there will now be 6 unique, hatless sculpts for both the blunderbusses and and fireblades! This wont increase the number included in a regiment but they already come in sets of 10 so you can collect them all without any extra cost to you. Both new sculpts will be in the "aimed" style so you'll be able to assemble an even more intimidating gun line!
And if you just can't get enough bogwyrm, we'll also be providing all backers with a coupon to use on our web store (https://bogwyrm.com) to combine your shipping with your campaign items! Be sure to check out our existing hand-sculpted miniature lines, as well as limited imports and dungeon synth.
Additionally, updates have been made to the shipping section providing guidance around large orders overseas and taxes. Transparency is our goal, and some of you crazies have placed much larger orders than I ever anticipated!
When is the next campaign you ask? Please, a moment of patience! Backerkit has it's pace and we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. We want to be sure everyone has their orders in hand before asking for any more commitments. But keep your eyes peeled for a backer-exclusive poll to tell us what you want to see next!
And speaking of timelines, backerkit requires we provide 14 days after the campaign closes before sending out surveys in order for people to get their payments in order. You can be sure I'll be sending them out just as soon as possible though, so watch your inbox for those emails. Once out you'll have 3 weeks to make your selections or add to you purchase via the pledge manager. If you elected to Pay Over Time then Backerkit doesn't send you that survey until you've made your final payment.
I'm completely floored by the support we've received in the last 24 hours. Bringing these lines to metal has been a dream of mine since fabz first put zbrush to blender (idk I'm not a sculptor), and even much of my motivation for starting bogwyrm!
As a very small business I thought this was an aggressive goal, and the stretch goal seemed to me a true challenge to meet, but we reached the initial goal in <4 hours and the stretch not long after.
Thank you all so much, I'm just as excited as you to wrap this up and start shipping.
We've been busy back at the forges, and now it's time to show off a few of the characters we'll be (re)introducing!
But first, make sure you visit our newest poll and tell us where you live - your shipping prices depend on it! https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/bogwyrm-miniatures/bogwyrm-x-principenero-evil-dwarfs-in-28mm/polls/5626
You've already met the wicked Sorcerer of course, but how about we bring some muscle. Meet the Grandmaster, with a hat to put all others to shame.
And this heavyweight (literally) will have a special addition - banner poles! (Not pictured - hey, you're the one sneaking peaks!) Whether he's leading the charge or keeping your troops in line, he'll be able to do it in style.
Of course I haven't forgotten I also promised to talk about an officer corp, so here they are. These are already mastered so we'll have them photographed in glorious metal by the time the campaign launches.
And never fear, you wont be constrained to a bunch of axe men leading your gunners. See! Nero's updated ranged officers (also still a WIP!)
And finally, a real treat. You're seeing it here for the first time - a special hero here to brutalize whatever pathetic forces array against you.
This brute will only be cast for the earliest backers of our Army Level tier though so don't let the hobgoblins find you slacking!
A note on further range expansion The learned will have noticed this is not the full force as envisioned by Fabelzel and Principe Nero. Still missing are their client races, great machines of war, destructive and wonderful monsters, and more. These, too, will come in time, allowing you to eventually field your whole army in nothing but beautiful, spin-cast metal. However, we want to make sure we do things right and that starts by taking things one step at a time. The next campaign will come hot on the heals of this one though, so keep your eyes peeled!
Fabel who? Principe what? Who are dwarfs? What is a hat?
Such questions are natural and you shouldn’t feel embarrassed. Come, sit, and see just what it is we’re making here.
The sorcerer on our pre-launch page? That’s a master copy of a Fabelzel original! Here he is, in his full-bodied glory. Cast, ready, and waiting to make his semi-permanent imprint on a production-grade mold.
He's got a few of his friends right now, equally prepared - but wait! They’ve forgotten their hats at home?
Well, not exactly. They’re just in the haberdashery! Here’s a few now, waiting on the milliner (testing sizing!)
“Well, they are beautiful,” you say. “And swappable hats will increase the variety a lot. But still only six bodies…” Well that’s where PrincipeNero comes in. A taste:
We will be selecting an additional 2 blunderbuss and 3 axe bodies from these for a choice selection of 5 each! And that doesn’t even count the fireblades - yes, 5 of these as well!
And don't worry, like all of our castings, these will be in luxurious, lead-free metal!
“Okay,” you muse, “I’m sold on the infantry. But only one general! And what about some officers for my soldiers?”
Well - oh goodness, it appears I’ve run out of time. Let’s continue this another time?
