Project Update: A Look At the Map in SOMETIME LOFTY TOWERS
DID YOU KNOW THIS BOOK WILL FEATURE A CLASSIC STYLE FANTASY MAP?
Hand-drawn by David’s dear wife, Janine M. Smith, the continent of Attluma is the setting of many of David's stories from more recent years - including SOMETIME LOFTY TOWERS.
You can see the Nevga river in the far north, from the banks of which the protagonist, Hanlin, hails and if you back this crowdfund you'll get to enjoy poring over the map in person as it will be part of the interior illustrations - along with an original frontispiece by Carlos Vera Marquez!
This map is just one of many interesting items discussed in the latest interview with David to go live, a podcast interview with the Gung-Ho Geeks! You can listen to it here: https://gunghogeeksblog.wordpress.com/2025/07/03/the-gung-ho-book-club-015-sometime-lofty-towers-interview-david-c-smith/
Meanwhile we are currently 77% of the way to unlocking spray color edges that'll make this book even more luxurious, more akin to the classic Sword & Sorcery paperbacks from when David began his career in the 1970's. If you've already backed us, please consider telling your friends who love fantasy maps about the crowdfund!
