I have been working with talented artists to create high quality fan merch since 2019, and one of the projects I've been doing is creating high quality multi layered acrylic standees that display well next to any figurine collection!
I have delivered delivered to over 1000 backers across 3 acrylic standee campaigns and have received hundreds of 5 star reviews on my Etsy store for them as well. I am excited to finish out this collection of FFXIV Acrylics with this 3rd and final volume! While both Volume 1 and 2 were hosted on Kickstarter, I've made the decision to use Backerkit as they are currently the only major crowdfunding platform that has a strict NO AI ART policy for their projects!
Kickstarter does have a policy that projects must disclose the usage of generative AI on projects, but it's not always a perfect solution. That said, Kickstarter is still MUCH better than Gamefound, which has rampant use of AI art, especially by Awaken Realms, the owner of Gamefound.
As someone who works with tons of artists to make games and merch, supporting human artists is a huge deal for me. While Kickstarter has a bigger user base, I think being on a platform that is more proactive about standing with artists is more important!
Each acrylic standee is made to be as premium and deluxe as possible in order to fit easily with any anime figurine display or on any book shelf.
Each standees stand at around 8 inches tall (or 20 cm), with art printed on both the front and back sides of each layer.
Each acrylic piece is 4 mm thick (1/8th inch) with the print layer sandwiched in the middle. I've compared several different manufacturers and different machines and have settled on a very high quality producer that prints at the highest resolution that avoids the grainy quality found in cheaper prints and UV printing.
Most pop up parade and scale figures are between 7 and 9 inches!
Below are 3d renders of the final design. Samples have already been tested and photos of them will be revealed via campaign updates, so we will be ready to enter production as soon as the campaign ends!
The full price of my standees are $40 each on my Etsy store. This price has been consistent for 3 years now, and is a genuine price (almost never discounted).
To be honest, given the current tariff amount... it might need to be raised to $45, but thats something for future Ming to worry about.
