Hello everyone, and once more an ENORMOUS thank you to everyone for backing this project! The campaign ended last night with 222 backers and $10,050. AMAZING! 💜 That's twice the original goal. It makes me feel much more secure for the second half of this year, knowing I have the funds to focus on this book.

This update is to let you know what to expect going forward. This is my 9th crowdfunding campaign, so I know that setting expectations ahead of time is very helpful for making sure everyone feels good about the project. You can expect an update from me here (keep an eye on your email and whitelist BackerKit updates if you can) at the beginning of every month moving forward, if not more, letting you know where things are at.

Hopefully this will stay the same, but I would like to let you know that it's possible it will be moved back a bit. I'm currently struggling with some health issues--I have dynamic disabilities which change from week to week, month to month and can flare up unexpectedly. I may need to take some of July off to rest rather than diving right into finishing the final line edits for the book.

That said, I did plan the December date with some buffer in mind. As we get closer to fulfillment, I will let you know if there will be any delays. Thank you in advance for your understanding!

Along the way I will post more detailed updates letting you know exactly how each of these steps work, what to look for/expect, answer any questions, and help solve any issues. I'm here for you every step of the way and strive to provide the best customer service I can, even if my response times may be a bit slower than average!

Hi everyone! Welcome to the TFTS campaign on BackerKit (thanks to BackerKit for being awesome and having great tools that I've come to prefer over Kickstarter), and THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for funding this project in just FOUR HOURS!

I'm so blown away and thankful from the bottom of my heart that you all are so excited for the next book in this series. I absolutely can't wait to get them out to you later this year so you can enjoy all 550+ pages of magical crafting trauma healing fantasy goodness.

I have received several inquiries about the sold out single copies of The Flame That Sings in hardcover with the hand-painted edges. I knew this would happen since in the book 2 campaign, I sold a TON of them--they were way more popular than I expected!

Unfortunately, I will not be opening more slots for this reward tier. The reason I limited them this time is because they are extremely time/labor intensive to make. One book takes about 20 minutes to paint (even considering I paint like 6 of them at a time), which means the 65 painted copies I have available across tiers will take me twenty hours to make. As a disabled person who only works 20 hours a week, that's, um, that's a full work week for me!

Some folks have asked if it's possible to get some kind of waiting list to nab copies from dropped pledges. I don't currently have the ability to create such a list, but you're welcome to check back on the campaign page from time to time to see if any have become available.

At the end of the campaign, if there are any painted hardcovers left over, I might make them available during the post-campaign checkout as add-ons or upgrades from the regular TFTS hardcover. That said, this is absolutely not guaranteed due to how popular they are, and I suspect if there are any there might be like...six, and they'll go just as fast.

Thank you so much for your understanding on this matter! I know that it's super disappointing for so many folks who have the painted book 1 and 2 to miss out, and it's absolutely on me for selling too many of those in the previous campaign (It took me a full month of doing nothing else but painting those to get them done...regretti spaghetti). I'm cutting it off now before we get to book 4 and 5 as well, phew!

If you are the crafty type, however, I do have a mini tutorial on how to do the painted edges for TFTS on YouTube! If you want to buy the normal hardcover and DIY the edges to match your collection, I heartily recommend giving it a shot, it's fun--and then you'll have the supplies and skills to paint any and all of your book collection, hehe.
