Just wanted to quick say thank you to everyone at Cephalofair right now! I can't imagine the stress that y'all have dealt with within the past weeks and months. As of writing this post, we still don't yet have your May 20th update yet. And I know that no matter what you choose to do, it's going to be a hard one to write, especially for the backers in the States. If you ship now, 30% tariffs are still massive, and there's always the possibility that the deal could break down by the time product hits the shores (and that's not to mention the increase in container prices). If you don't ship and continue to wait, even that is a gamble. While there is always the chance that things could improve tariff-wise, that administrations could change, that global factors could shift, etc., there is also the possibility that things could get worse. You face an unpredictable road before you. And unlike when we play Gloomhaven, nobody gets to cheat and flip this Road Event over to peek at the better outcome. I do not envy your situation. Yet throughout all of this, I have been immensely and genuinely inspired by your continued support in the community, here, on Reddit, and elsewhere. Even when you have not had all of the answers - or when the answers have been "we're still figuring things out" - you have let us know. I'm genuinely thankful for that. I know that you all are dealing with so much stress not only related to this campaign's practical logistics, but also how that could spill over into your personal lives. (If we lose too much money on this project, will we need to find new jobs? Could the company go under? How could this impact launching future projects and the ability to continue doing this career that brings so much joy to everyone at Cephalofair?) Those questions are stressful, the kind that keep you up at night. I just want to say that I appreciate y'all. I know that a lot of us have been eagerly awaiting our games and, at times, have been perhaps so eager that we have forgotten that the messages we type are being received by human beings overwhelmed with way more logistics than we are possibly aware of. Yet even when some elements of our community have leaned more toxic, even then y'all have still been kind, caring, and attentive. That shows true character and compassion. You all are exemplary human beings (and I do not use those words lightly). Keep up the good work - and know that there are a lot of us that understand that a lot of this chaos has been outside of your control. And for the parts that have been inside of your control (the delays, etc.), I'm still willing to have grace on y'all. I've been late on much smaller and less logistically challenging projects myself. And you have been consistent in your communication, which is huge. You are appreciated. I know that you have a lot on your minds and hearts right now, so I hope that even this little message can give a little light to your days. Sincerely, Polar P.S. I don't know if it's any of y'all's jam or not, but I am (genuinely) praying for y'all. :)
