What is this all about?


Ever feel like your encounters and descriptions keep falling back on the same old tropes? Like you’re pulling from a well-worn bag of ideas, and what comes out feels… fine, but not quite magical?

Weird, Whimsy & Wonder is a creative tool for TTRPG game masters and solo players who want to break free from the expected and summon something more memorable: strange, moving, or mysterious. It helps you craft moments that feel out of place in the best possible way, evoking awe, delight, eeriness, or curiosity.

You can use it in multiple ways: prepping for a session, improvising at the table, or as you play solo. In any case, this book helps you transform the mundane: you take ordinary creatures, places, items, or events, and reimagine them as something dreamlike, uncanny, or majestic. You can even start from a blank page and let the tables inspire you to craft those delightfully bizarre situations.

In the book, you will find:

The Art

For the first time in any of my games, the book will feature my own art. I decided to learn how to draw a few months ago, and I thought that having a clear goal—like this project—would be a great motivation to keep pushing. It is my hope you can appreciate the wackiness and honesty of what I am going for here. I am literally learning as I go. Here's how the cover art came to be:

Combined with my own illustrations, I am repurposing public domain images and incorporating them into my art, in a mix of photobashing, tracing and reinterpretation. Here's an example of a piece of public domain art I used to give this fish a face:

I am also going to draw graphic elements on some of the pages that have less of a cognitive load (don't worry, pages with detailed procedures are kept cleaner so the text can communicate efficiently).

The plan is that we will be 100% fulfilled by February 2026. That means PDFs will be out just before Christmas and the physical stuff will start heading out in January 2026. If anything changes, we'll make sure you know via updates ASAP.

Tariffs: Who knows where these will be when we start fulfilling. That said, books are protected against tariffs in the US - even when they are executive orders. We've tested this theory with several thousands of dollars of game books shipped to the US and not a cent of tariff paid.
