We’ve started preparing shipments, but many are on hold while we wait for the stickers (already ordered and expected soon). The bigger surprise was how many of you chose the Dinosaur Space Program pin. We didn’t actually reach that goal by the end—and thought only a handful would have it—but it turns out nearly half of you included it in your reward. 

That pin will now be designed and sent into production, which means some orders will be delayed until September. It’s not in production yet—but I’ll have the final design ready to share this week. If you’d prefer not to wait, just drop us a note and we’ll be happy to swap the pin for another item of equal value so your order can ship sooner.

Many of you have already backed it, but for those who haven’t heard, we have a new enamel pin set funding now on BackerKit—celebrating historic crewed space missions. It’s part of my Super League of Science, a collaboration with eight other artists who also create work inspired by science. 

Alongside our entry, the collaborative features a whole collection of amazing pin sets—everything from insects and isopods to dinosaurs, moths, cell art, horseshoe crabs, and of course (what collaboration would be complete without them?) cats. You can explore them all on our collaborative campaign page. 

So… I’m still considering moving forward with the DINO SPACE PROGRAM pin. We’ve made a few sales on the pre-order one page and are about $50 away from the goal. Honestly, I think we’re close enough. 

 

The real issue now is timing. We’re several weeks out, so anyone who adds this pin to their reward will face a shipping delay while we wait for them to arrive—probably not until September. So I’m debating if it’s worth pushing forward and delaying orders, or if we should hold off for now to avoid making backers wait.

So this just landed in my inbox last night. With hours to go the prototypes for the other five pins. I did replace the backgrounds so they are prettier.

The only requests I am making are the blues are too dark in the DEFEND EARTH pin, and the banner for STAY UNEXTINCT is too dark as well.

Apart from that, I think these will be approved and should arrive here in about three weeks. If any stretch goals are made, that will delay shipment on orders with that pin (DINO SPACE PROGRAM). If the shirt stretch is met, that will not add more time as I can get those in two weeks.

The stretch goal hasn’t yet been met, but is only about $400 away and we expect the one-page to get us over that line pretty easily (see sketch in the lower left of the image). Look for that completed design early next week. 

My 10-year-old’s campaign is also still going for another week. It has been funded, but we would love for additional backers to support this budding illustrator/designer. We are going to post a video this week showing her drawing another project.
 

Our next campaign will be Giant Leaps in Space, a pin set celebrating crewed missions like Apollo, ISS, Vostok and others. Originally a series of 36x18 posters created in 2017, we will finally produce some pins based on these original designs.
