Project Update: Punk is Dead nominated for a CRIT award, plus new expansion news!

Hey there,

I'm just dropping in with a few bits of news, so please do try get to the end of this email!

First up is that Punk is Dead has been nominated for a CRIT Award under the Best Indie TTRPG category. That's on you for helping me make this a thing in the first place. But, there is still more you can do. Please go give us a vote over at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf8YSKrjEei20hfNnH1TgJ3MgeNoTcjEcEuT_zaOVWHASuCXQ/viewform

There's a ton of other great categories and projects to vote for whilst you are there, but you only need to vote for the ones you care about.

On the one hand, awards are bullshit, on the other hand they help me keep writing games.

Next up, is news about the maps. I've been on the road for the past month at various conventions, but I believe they are now in our possession. I'm back in the office tomorrow, so I will begin planning getting those out to you.

And another thing! Punk is Dead is now going to be part of the Music is Hope trilogy and I am launching the second title, Folk Hero on BackerKit on July 1st. Please signup here to get notified when we go live.

The books will match perfectly for those of you who embrace the collection side of the hobby.

This book will include standalone solo play rules as well as new fascists, playable roles, lore and gigs. But, for me, the most exciting news is that the estate of Woody Guthrie has given us permission to use some lyrics in the book. The book will also lean heavily into UK folklore, brought into our post-apocalyptic setting.

Okay, that's all I have for you right now, but I will be back in a few weeks to let you know about the third book in the trilogy scheduled for 2026 release.

Stay punk!

Project Update: That Map - Part II

Hey all,

So, we have had a very important late-stage capitalist meeting at CKHQ and come to the following conclusion:

We want to honour exactly what we said we would give backers, so we will be working on a solution to get every physical backer a physical copy of the fold at map.

The main issue we faced was the financials of doing so much extra shipping for us as a small business. We've mapped out our cashflow (told you it was gonna be a capitalist bullshit ride) and we can do this over the next few months. We would look to have every single map delivered by summer of this year.

The maps will be with us at the beginning of next week, so we will start the process then.

I hope this works for everyone. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions/concerns.

In the meantime, if you are looking for more Punk is Dead content, please consider signing up to the Dead Punk's society where, for the price of a cup of coffee each month, you will get original content in a 7 inch PDF zine format. The first issue contains a new Brass role for PiD as well as an interview with The Shit Biscuits and The Murk Mart. Next issue (March) will have a new scenario.

You can take a look here.

That's all for now.

Tim

Project Update: Interlude: about that fold-out map.

kHeyo,

A few backers have alerted me to the fact that I never included the fold-out map from the 50k stretch goal. Hands-up, that was a brain-fart on my part as I forgot to add it to the production items.

So, firstly, I am sorry that happened.

Now how to fix it.

It would be outside of what we could financially do as an indie publisher to send the maps out worldwide (the print costs aren't really a factor, it's solely the postage).

As a gesture of goodwill, I would be happy to create an epic piece of content for Punk is Dead in the next few weeks that is exclusively for our backers. I'm thinking a PDF scenario for you all to play. Can we work with that?

Let me know in the comments.

Also, I've posted the first issue of Dead Punk's society on my Patreon. This first issue has a new role for "BRASS" players, a bit of lore told via an interview with The Shit Biscuits and The Murk Mart: a page of unwanted crap and services in the form of small ads. All of this packaged in the same eclectic style of Punk is Dead.

As always, thank you for your support, apologies for my shortcomings and keep making music together.

Tim

Project Update: That Map

Hey there,

So, after mapgate yesterday, the general concensus was that a PDF scenario was acceptable, but most comments also suggested that I upload the PDF of the map.

So, in line with that you can download an super hi-res version of that here.

Once again, I am sorry for that mess-up and I will always do what I can to do right by my supporters!

Project Update: Quick fulfilment update.

Hey there,

I'm dropping in to give you a quick update on where we are with fulfilment.

We're currently at 60% fulfilled and we are looking to have everything out by next Friday. If you haven't received your fulfilment email yet, please hang tight... we are coming to you soon!

We've received so much great feedback and wonderful action shots of your games. Please do keep sharing them as it really does make all this hard work pay off for us.

I also want to thank you again for supporting Punk is Dead. Oh, and please do join our Discord server as there is dedicated channel for PiD where you can share ideas, photos and ask me questions: https://discord.gg/FQpK85zDVK

Finally, if you are looking for something a bit lighter in tone, I have a new game coming to BackerKit's pocketopia in March: Unleashed: Doggos doing heists. Sign up to get notified here

I'll be in with another update next week to let you know how things are going, but we don't anticipate any issues.

Until then, take care.
