So I am very excited about running this game! I love TTRPGs of every kind. My friends aren’t as into roll play, but they are into punk culture. I thought this would be the perfect way for us to share our interests. So I am going to run this for them. But I don’t really know anything about punk culture (I know I’ll do better). What are some songs I should listen to, books I should read, or movies I should watch so I don’t embarrass myself in front of my friends?
Project Update: Production update - the tees are here.
So, the good news is that we have the T-shirts! Here are some pics (yep, that's me proving that if my game writing career fails I've always got the modelling to fall back on).
Next up will be the dice. We are expecting them into our studio next week. I'll be sure to send pics as soon as I have them. The game itself is in proofreading, so depending on how much bad grammar needs adjusting I'm hoping to get the PDFs out this month. Right after that we are heading to print.
Big thanks to everyone who came to see us at PaxWest in Seattle. Those of you who were backers of the campaign were so kind in your comments and really got us through that jet lag with the excitement about the game.
I know you've all been hyper-patient and we are in the final stages of getting everything together now. I really can't wait to get everything in your hands.
There will likely be one more update before I send out the PDFs. Then it's just waiting for the final prints of books and GM screens before we start fulfilling.
I'll be back again shortly with more good news!
Thank you for your support,
Tim <3
Project Update: Come see us stream a horror western tomorrow!
Next year, we will be releasing our horror/western, Death Valley, an RPG where you play the undead. Tommorrow (Saturday, 24th) at 15:00 BST we'll be streaming a live playtest and you can come along and watch and be in with a chance to win some goodies.
Follow us on twitch.tv/critical_kit to get notified.
Come along and show your support, heckle us, or just say hi in the chat to be in with a chance to win a giveaway.
Hope to see you there,

Project Update: A Quick Update
So, they say no news is good news, but in the case of crowdfunding, I don't believe that's the case.
There's not much to report at the moment, but I still think it's important to let you know that I haven't vanished and that your beautiful game is still happening. Especially if this is your first crowdfunding experience.
The actual book is still being finalised by me. I do flaff about (edit/polish/tweak) a bit and that invariably makes my projects a few months late, but I also want this to be my opus. I've switched the voice in the writing a couple of times as it wasn't landing. I finally think I've now nailed the right blend of humour and attitude for a game that involves being a punk.
Here are a couple more sample pages:
Next week, I'll share some more pages with you and I've got some specs for print nerds to share. This book is one for the coffee table and not just the shelf.
That said, I want to assure you that we are not talking months for fulfilment. This beast of a game will be in your hands in the Autumn period.
Some news: The dice are ready! They will be shipped this week and we should have them at the beginning of next month. I've seen the T-Shirts too and they look fab. I'll know more about when we are getting them next week.
Some more news: I'm heading for PaxWest on the 28th and I will take some actual printed pages from the book with me. If you are at that event, please do come say hi and let's chat.
We're also planning a live stream in October in front of a live and internet audience. I have no f***king idea how that will happen, but we'll make it happen. It will be an original story.
Right, that's all for now. Apologies for making no news into several hundred words.
I will be back with updates, frequently, just so you know I'm not one of those take-the-money-and-run types. I can't emphasise how much it means to me that you supported Punk is Dead. It's thanks to you that I don't have to get a real job.

Project Update: A little weekend schedule update.
Whilst we are waiting on Punk is Dead to finally get out in your hands, I thought I'd let you know about some of the other projects I'll be working on throughout what's left of 2024 and into 2025.
Before I do, I want to assure you that our policy here is not to crowdfund any other games until we have at least begun fulfilling any rewards from our previous campaign.
Here's a list of our planned publications (dates may shift a little depending on whether we are running early or late with other projects):
Wires in the Woods (scheduled October 2024)
This cozy journalling game (with a slightly dark tint) sees you play strange creatures in a 1980s where the world has been abandoned. It's a game of exploration, problem-solving and upcycling. There are five different creatures to play and four world settings. The A5 book is inspired by and contains the amazing art of Simon J Curd (all original pieces created for the book). the One: a solo toolkit for fifth edition (scheduled March 2025)
A comprehensive toolkit to help you play fifth edition of the world's most popular role-playing game in one-player mode. The A5, hardcover book is packed with techniques, tools and advice gleaned through hundreds of hours of solo play with chapters including tips on adapting published content and creating your own adventures. If you want to try a solo DnD one-shot right now, we also have Once We Were Gods available either in physical or digital format: https://www.criticalkit.co.uk/products/once-we-were-gods-dnd-one-shot-a-5th-edition-solo-adventure-physical-copy-copy
Also planned for 2025 is Corvus (with a C). A multiplayer version of Be Like a Crow which will be fully compatible with the solo game. That's right, bring your solo character into a multiplayer game and vice-versa.
If anything there tickles your tabletop, please do follow along. We can't bring these creations to the world without your help and we are so grateful to each and every member of our community.
