Rabbit Stew is a genre-fluid horror story centred around the Wade family and the dark secrets of their bloodline. It is told over the course of several issues; the first issue of which is in the style of Southern Gothic.
This campaign is for the first 40-page issue that tells a complete story.
It's 1959 and America is about to head into a new decade. The world is changing, but in some forgotten places in the South, old ways and ancient things remain.
Eden Wade, a young girl on the cusp of being an adult finds herself caught in between two worlds: the march of modernity and something older than humanity itself that lies in the woods beyond her father's struggling farm.

The final product will be available as a 40+ page black and white comic in both physical softcover and digital PDF format. There will be extra bonus content including original scripts in the back of the book.
We are self-rating Rabbit Stew as 17+ for mature readers as it contains some sensitive scenes.
Even if you enjoy horror, we don't assume you like all horror. Here are some trigger warnings and safe spaces that will help you decide if this comic is for you.
Content Safeguards: There are no mentions of sexual abuse, self harm, suicide, slavery, racism or domestic violence.
Trigger Warnings: There are a several scenes of body horror and a scene depicting of the aftermath of animal harm.
I can't say how excited I am to be working on an extra-special piece of crossover content with Adam Holloway, an award-winning writer who also creates amazing content for Parable Games' titles such as Shiver, Sisterhood, ION-Heart and more.
If you back both Rabbit Stew and The Dying Art of Mystery, we're going to team up to create a two-page comic uniting both of our works in one little story - totally free.
If we reach £1,500, we will add Spot UV to the cover. Just in case you are wondering what that means, here is what it looks like on one of our other publications:
Cowmaggedon Patch For £4, you can get the official blood-stained, sew on Cowmageddon patch as worn by Eden Wade. Stick it on your overalls and get to work in the fields.
Official Wade Farm Merch!
The Games As well as creating Rabbit Stew, Tim Roberts has also created a number of solo role-playing games. They are available here as add-ons.
Once we have the funds, I will get to work, paying Ezequiel to create the art for each page. We estimate this will take place throughout October, November, and December with a view to having the PDF in your inboxes before Christmas. If at all possible, we will endeavour to have the physical copies ready at the same time, but these may likely get to you in January of 2027.
How can we make a comic if we only just hit our goal of £500?
At Critical Kit, we self-fund about 90 percent of the things we print. The more we raise, the faster we can turn the project around. Creating this comic will cost us in the region of £4,000, but we don't need to raise that much to create it. However, raising less might affect the timeline slightly as we manage our cash flow, but ultimately, capitalist bullshit aside, we will get it done and it will be in your hands ASAP.
We will also keep you updated on any movements in our expected timelines.
