We're working on an adventure specifically designed for the Boxed Set, that will introduce you to a whole new set of mechanics for dungeons, from building them to exploring their depths.
And who will head up this brave new adventure..?
Introducing the Spelunker!
The adventure will also feature a brand new Legacy: the Spelunker.
The Spelunker is for those who want to delve deep into the unknown; explorers, cave divers, and adventurers who thrive in the darkness beneath the forest.
This Legacy brings a unique playstyle that rewards clever navigation, resourcefulness, and an understanding of the treacherous environments you'll encounter.
Dice + Cards System for the Boxed Set
One of the biggest decisions we've made for the Boxed Set is the introduction of a hybrid dice and cards system. Here's how it works:
🎲 Dice for Resolutions - Core resolution mechanics will use custom dice designed specifically for Brambletrek. These dice keep the game flowing, create tension, and make every roll feel meaningful.
🃏 Cards for Events and Combat - Events and combat will continue to use cards to streamline gameplay and give players and House Mouses quick-reference tools at the table. These cards keep things organized, reduce rulebook flipping, and add a tactile element to key moments in the game.
This hybrid system combines the best of both worlds: the satisfying randomness and physicality of rolling dice with the clarity and structure of card-based encounters. We've playtested this extensively, and we cannot wait for you to get to experience it too!
