Project FAQ
No, you don’t. Drakonym is a complete and self-contained experience. However, if you’ve played our previous titles, we’ve included tools to help you transfer your characters and continue their journey in this new system.
Yes. A full Solo Rulebook is included with this campaign, offering dynamic tools for hex travel, prompts, and dragonbonded journaling without needing a Herald or traditional GM. You DO NOT need the Core Rulebook to play Solo/GM-less but it is recommended to get access to all the core classes/paths/kin etc.
Drakonym blends narrative-driven play with tactical depth using a unique attribute + attribute dice pool system. It avoids traditional class arcetypes and supports class-path mixing, and centers emotional storytelling through its dragonbond system.
Yes. We intend to release a third-party creator license post-launch, allowing others to build compatible content, settings, and supplements using the Drakonym system.
We’ve planned multiple arcs across regions like Aslana, Caburh, and Tirafel. While the core offering focuses on Batesian, future expansions will explore the world’s deeper myths, realms, and factions, including the Paragon War and the Hollow King.
Yes. All physical tiers automatically include matching PDF copies at no extra cost.
Yes. We’re launching with full Alchemy support, with Foundry and Roll20 compendiums and modules to follow as stretch goals are unlocked.
Sanctum is the Crossed Paths Digital Character Creation Tool & Compendium. It will have all core rules for all titles available for free in an easy to access format and also digital tool to allow you to create your own accessories such as the Drakonym Spell Cards.
Shipping rates increase each year, and these books are also far longer than older titles. With three full books included, the weight and class of each parcel essentially triples, especially with upgraded packaging for international durability.
We expect to ship in late 2026 as we plan an extended playtest to get the game perfect. Backers will receive updates at each milestone. Some items, like digital PDFs and VTT access, will be delivered earlier via waves.
Digital rewards will arrive first. Physical rewards will ship together. This also includes any older title add-ons. You will get the digital rewards instantly if possible but physical rewards will ship alongside campaign pledge rewards.
Yes. We’ll be launching the Herald’s Path initiative post-release, offering episodic adventures, faction updates, and seasonal quests that shape the evolving world of Akeroth.
Join our Discord to receive updates, design diaries, playtest invites, and community events. We’re building long-term support for players, creators, and Heralds alike.
Yes! All unlocked digital content (VTTs, bonus PDFs, etc.) will be delivered to digital backers. Physical upgrades (foil, bookmarks, etc.) apply to print tiers only.
Yes. We have multiple modular expansions and upgrades designed to unlock without disrupting timelines. All goals are structured to avoid production delays.
Yes. Simply edit your pledge or wait until after the campaign ends & you’ll be able to manage your pledge through our post-campaign pledge manager. This includes adding books, pins, dice, journals, and card sets.
Not unless there is significant demand. As these are handmade we want to ensure our artisan partners can manage any additional requests.
The Mystery Gem Sets are random sets of 5d6 and 1d12 gemstone dice. You will always get 5d6 that match and 1d12 that is made from a different gemstone.
Yes. We offer a dedicated retailer pledge tier with discounted pricing and bulk ordering. Proof of retail status is required, and fulfillment is handled separately from standard backer tiers.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
