If you're either terminally online or very attuned to the news, you may have heard about the sudden sped-up removal of the de minimis customs exception for the US. The timeline accelerating on this (de minimis was originally scheduled to be axed July 2027) is screwing over all kinds of folks and small businesses.
I emailed backers with US address that were awaiting gold ear Nibble remakes earlier this week and offered a choice to still squeak in under the wire rather than continuing to wait, so this first bit will be a repeat for them - but for everyone else, here's a summary of the situation from this source:
Once I finally found these details and passed them on, I dropped everything else and scrambled to get all remaining orders that I could packed and ready to go.

In the end, I got 22 more of you in the mail this week: twenty via InTime/Deutsche Post, and two that last minute fixed their cards or finished their surveys loose via PostNL. Seeing that several of you in the States who had your packages scanned by InTime on August 8th and 11th respectively have already received them is very encouraging, I am quite hopeful that this last batch of orders will clear US customs before August 29th! 🙏

Of course if anything does go wrong please let me know and I will work with you to make sure you eventually get your robot buddies. We'll get through this together. 295 orders are now marked as fulfilled and of the 22 remaining awaiting remakes, only 11 of those are US addresses. Everyone who replied to my emails accepting a green ear Nibble has already made it into the mail.

The last 11 non-US orders will be shipped as scheduled when I receive the remakes (current estimate is still October). For the last US folks, I will do my darndest to look for another solution but it is most likely that all remaining US orders will be shipped in March 2026. Even if anyone else fixes their card/completes their survey/decides on a green ear Nibble, if you happen to do so in the next ~2 hours (by 8 PM CET/2 PM EST today, Sunday) I can prepare it for Monday morning pickup, which is the ABSOLUTE LAST deadline I am willing to risk, cutting it uncomfortably close, and afterwards you will have to continue waiting.
This is so very frustrating and I am so sorry. The situations of the manufacturer swapping colors on Nibble and the buffoonery going down in the US were obviously both out of my hands, but I did my very best to do right by all of you. I didn't want anyone surprised with nasty unexpected charges upon receipt of their goods! Thank you so much for your patience and support. 💚

Web and Remnant in progress!
I'm pleased to introduce you to the bot-boards for Web and Remnant (an undertaker robot, named for data remanence: follow the new project to learn more about them soon), two of the four designs to come for the Void Unit Line! The metal plating for Void will be copper (top), rainbow anodized (bottom left), or gold (bottom right). I'm considering sampling for two of these before making a decision, which brings me to the poll at the end of this post. Rainbow will be sampled regardless (how it could turn out is a bit more of a wild card but the temptation is too massive to resist), but peep up if you'd like to help me decide between trying out copper or gold for the alternate sample. <3
